Cricket: Aussie and WC

If there is any team that can claim any right to call any title in World Cricket their own is Aussie. They deserve to win and may win. But as I sit and right this. SL are through to Finals. Aussie will be perhaps there as well before anyone comments on this post. The Aussie have steam rolled SAfs for paltry 149 and Aussie are 10 for one. I expect them to get the score by the 25 if not the 20 over. They deserve to be there. I think this is their strongest performance I have seen. They have looked down and out in the past but this WC has seen nothing like that. They may lose to Lankans but thats another story.
If Lankans has to beat them then what the Aussies have done is to make sure that a team beats them and not any individual. There were teams when Aussie were beaten by individuals, Sachin, Lara, Dravid have done it (in tests and sometimes in ODI) but not this one. The lone worry is Gilchrist but then it is not yet over.Hussey may be another worry. But they can manage them with someone else who will come and tonk the opposition harder.

A score of 149 has little to offer. Tait was clocking 150 as our "pace" bowlers easily touch 120. I mean there is no dearth of options. Ponting has the best men in business to lead so often his leadership abilities may not be explored. SAFs are chokers they have had two defeats at the hand off Aussie and this Semi final was to say the least damn paltry. If I could make one suggestion to cricket lover/admins/players it would be spinner. U guys will remain chokers if u don't find a spinner soon.

NZ well they will always remain second best as well. They have been defeat in semi more than 6 times now. They don't know to handle the spinning ball. 4 wickets for 3 runs claimed by spinners that said it all. Lankans need to play out of their skins to claim the cup I hope they do it or else Aussie will take the Cup home. They deserve it the most.

Cricket: Four on Forefront.

Aussies, Kiwis, Lankans and SAfs have made it to the semis of WC. I don't think there are surprises here. I think I did not wanted Aussies to win. But the way they have played they deserve to win the WC 07. No one else even is a close second. They can wrap up anyone anytime.

Aussies.

Gold. They play and win. Hayden and Ponting have forgotten what it is to get out in single digits. Gilchrist can get to ten. They play four bowlers and lack the quality spinner. It hurts me when Hogg take wickets. But he does and Aussies win. They are a complete team. If anyone wants to understand what innovations mean, look at Aussies. They revolutionized one day cricket with day and night stuff. Then when the world catch up, they started scorig 300 or more in a day in the test match. The team rest on fitness and they are supremely fits. If one gets injured he is replaced by a player whose only better than the one being replace and now in One Days Hayden comes and bludgeons the best bowlers to submission while the others "contribute".

I think only Aussies seem worthy of this WC. I mean it will be a big perhaps the biggest upset ever if they are to crash out. Lets look at teams who are rolling uptheir sleeves and may challenge Aussies in their quest for the third consecutive WC victory and perhaps the fourth consecutive WC Final appearance.

I wonder why they never blame the conditions now a days. What do they do to adjust so fast to conditions?

SAfs.

The lack spinners. no dearth of all rounders. Kemp, Boucher, Kallis, Hall,Pollock so lots of options with Graeme Smith. The one options he doesn't have is a spinner. A quality spinner. One who could claim Aussies wickets ;P. This thing draws against them. Greame Smith looks good so does Kallis and Gibbs and Devilleirs. I hope they can muster aenough courage and play the right tricks on Aussies if they are to beat them. Pollock is genuine quality opening bowler even if Hayden may disagree. Ntine looks good but wayward at times. I hope Smith is praying for lots of luck coz he needs it if he wishes to lay his hands on that Cup.

Lankans.

Slow bowlers are they key. Murali will always be under pressure no matter how Vaas performs. Lankans too have many options. They must fit in attapattu somewhere. Jayasuriya can blast anytime but his record away from lanka is ordinary. The middle order is fragile though. Jayawardene is a good player and taking the team along. Sangakarra sup0ports him well but he would be itching to make an impact with the bat. I hope their middle order doesn't crumble under pressure.

Kiwis.

They lost to Aussies but I hope they did not peak too early. Bond did not play it was something difficult to fathom. The too have lots of options. Lots of bowlers and lots of batsmen, key people who can deliver. Vettori is as good a spinner i may likely to find these days.
I hope they have their plans settled out.

Prince of Cricket bids adieu to the game.

Brian lara will play his last game today. I mean he was and will be so good. The only thing that separated him from Tendulkar was he could bat for ages and win it for the team something Tendulkar could not always replicate especially in Test. lara always has had huge appetite for big runs. He was a weird palayer. I mean it is sometimes shame to see him get out. He could do anything on his day and people would just stand in awe and shock. here is to u Lara.

Cricket: WC of wrong reasons

My last post could not been posted coz of poor 'Net connection. But things look a bit better for good and for bad.

Off the filed controvery.

When sport, any sport is in the headlines for non sporting reason there is something out of place. Bob Woolmer was killed, I sensed foul play the instant I heard it. It is so sad. The betting and fixing syndicate is responsible as they say but the plot is wide and thick and things are not what it seems to be. It is a sorry state.

Lossers have anew name.

The Team India / Men in Blue/ God knows what else, bowed out to quick too soon. The Indian team is quiet not what if use to be or what it could be. The team looks brilliant on the paper, but then cricket is not played on paper. The bowling lacked the sting and batting tits (e)steem. It was sorry to see. I dont know what happens next but then Tendulkar bowed out for zero. I have always considered Tendulkar is the greatest run scorer but not the greatest run getter. I dont know the reason for this, he has always made runs never won "enough" matches, the proof is the fact India has not seen enough contribtuions from him especially in Test and in matches we have won. It is disconcerting.

Possible reasons of ouster.

It is just a hypothesis and we never know the exact reason coz such is the nature India Cricket. I think possible reason is some kind of weird psychosis going on were too much is expect in the wrong manner. The psyche seems too be dented and the whole team gets heavy footed for wrong reason.Give up the agony guys put up a fight. I mean fight it out to the best u can do.

I feel the agony has ended coz India would be minnowed under very very mentally tough teams in cricket. Did u saw Aussies cracking SAfs? The world Cup deserves to be with Aussies coz u got be great to snatch it from them. They and only they show how to play cricket. scoring forties and bowling in 125 kmph will take you only one way, out of the world cup. There is a crisis which can be sorted out provided right people are given right responsibilities. RD is a good captain but better selection and better belief and urge to fight on can get one better result provided we stick through people. I think there is complete overhauling necessary, which includes over hauling pitches even at the most localest of place.
The suggestion from my end would play on uncovered pitches coz thats something bowlers need to learn their trait on. The money is no issue coz India Board is one of the richest sports governing body. How is the cricket administration is run is a wonder in itself. The stellar performances at home combines with extra odrinary hype has what got the biggest jolt. The batsmen will need to grind in and spin talent would develop though.
It is the right time to go back to the drawing board. It is a test of an honest and peaceful Team India Fan. Guys just do it, we are there with you. :)

Realty checque for all.

Cricket Admins, Cricketers fans and meida has got the biggest jolts in the recent history. There is no questions that things are not well, but can someone and stand up and take responsibility of having something wrong and say we will set it right. I think they not as physically fit and mental fitness stand at dismal level. The game (as the world) has got more demanding both mentally and physically.
I mean at times one should talk to near one (this is for all not only cricketers) coz sometimes out of anxiety and incorrect perception we park into dilemma when the solutions could be very simple to understand. Those solutions could be tough to apply, but the bad things is they are the only solutions. One has to grind oneself.

Silver cloud and black lining.

India and Pakis ouster means super right has been reduced to super six. The way Hayden played means Aussies are in a firm position to retain the WC which seemed highly unlikely but then who knows. It is the game of glorious uncertainities. I personally want someone else to win just for the sake of change. I think NZ are worth challengers hope Bond bowls them through.

I want to blog and blog coz these days I miss blogging

Cricket: Cricket Calypso style.

I announce the World Cup open said the greatest cricketers alive, Sir Garfield Sobers. He was the top (not one of the top, TOP) run getter and wicket tacker when he hung up his boots. He could do anything with the ball of bat.

Me and Nagu on Gtalk.

No self praise here it was just a guess while me and Nagraj were on G-Talk he asked me what would WI score is said 240 would be good. They ended up scoring 241. Thanks havens. Anyways it is a good score. WI bowling would be tested here.

Review.

Wind punched out of Gayle.

Umar Gul. Man Pak is a mine of Fast Bowler. Gayle seems to be exposed with the bowl curving away. Agarkar cropped him last time around in the pratice match Gul did it in this Calypso cricket opener. One down; WI. Pakis draw first blood.

Number One but not quiet there.

I am weary of Sarwan he always give chances to bowlers and must learn to control his naïve shot selection. He is too good perhaps the future captain but he needs to be better. He made a fluent 49 and got out to a dismissal which he would not like to see on replay. He is such a fluent, touch player and to get out in such ordinary way make u feel like plucking his hair out.

Samuels fixes the collapse.

Marlon Samuels may be feeling the pinch here. He is under scanner for not being a good boy. He came good though and helped Lara with repairs of WI innings and made a well compiled 50. he and Lara got out at wrong time. If they would be there then certainly Nagraj would have won the bet. 

Tail wags.

WI has one of the best late orders. The tail wags. They did well and Dwayne Smith made a quick fire 30. A little more caution and 250 would be a winning score. WI bowling feels weird. I hope they come good.

Look whos blogging

Me takes oppourtunity to welcome back Invincible after real long time.Welcome back pal blogosphere seems a bit better with u around.

Bottom-line.

Inzi would be looking on to get a head start। I think Pakis may win this unless something terrible goes wrong. WI bowlers have their work cut out. I hope they keep fielding a notch above the best if they want to hunt Pakis down.
