One song that Mumbai won’t be singing this season will be “Yeh Dil Mange More…………” The city seems to have got more than a share of rains. The rain doesn’t seem to go away from Mumbai. It is sticking to the city like those unexpected guests who are not interested in moving out. The time is right now to replace the old adage “Raining Cats and Dogs”.
The step motherly treatment of the Central Government towards the city of course does not help. The PM did announce a Rs 500 Crore package. Lets see how will it help the city which pays the country Rs 200 Crores worth of taxes in a day. The people in New Delhi seem not to take notice. But one thing is for sure the Rains have not dampened the Markets. It will continue to be bullish. It will sky rocket if Monsoon yields a “Bumper” crops. One advice to the people of Mumbai, save the city do vote in next elections and make sure your candidate makes your point so that you don’t have to feel the guilt of not doing anything for your HOME city.
An old song for a city that beats the wrath of disaters. The song is old so is the spirt of the city. Guru Dutt song “Ae Dil hai Mushkil Jeena Yahan,Yeh Mumbai, Yeh Mumbai, Yeh hai….. Mumbai meri Jaan….”
