All said and done India have made sure that this match produces a result, it my not be in their favour, thats another issue.
So a few Questions that I blogged yesterday have been answered.
Bhajji bowled such a line to be fair to Aussies, he wanted to prove them he is not a Warnie. :)
India did polish the tail but tha was the last joy, they will enjoy in this test.
Indians could not see the new ball off, the red cherry bid farewell to Indian top order.
Indians did not have enough fuel to keep the stove burning.
Nature of things likely to come up.
Aussies to get bowled out for 125. Zaheer rocks the top order, Ponting again beaten of a peach. Harbhajan bowls Hayden out of rough. Kumble taking quick three wickets, Hussey, Symonds and Clarke. R.P. pegs Gilly's stumps back.
Can anything be more Utopian?
Aussies need to just stay in the first session off with not much damage, they will manage the affairs after that. Indians have rested all the intiative back to the Aussies.
Cricket the great leveller.
Any player who knows it, Yuvraj fail to trouble the scorers and went out for blob, Dhoni did not add anything either. This is a transition for Indian team and grit has to come out.
Sehwag is not Dravid, Dravid is no Sehwag.
Talk of black and white and Sehwag an Dravid wouldn't be to bad a comparison. One has to score against Aussies just playing, proding and defending wont help win matches against Aussies. I did not understand why wasnt rotating the strike was even thought off, is it so difficult?.Sixty Six balls for five runs.
The only joy was Sachin.
Watching him bat was a pleaseant break, it was like watching Raju Srivastav in a comedy show in a break between Sas-Bahu series, alas the Tendulkar show did not last long. He batted got a start, scored a fifty and holed out at 62.
Bottom line.
Indian need a billion prayers to see that this ends in a draw. But they have sown the seeds for defeat already.

Cricket: India draw first blood
A few remarks and few questions about todays day of play
1. Aussies nine down for 337.
2. Big Oak (Hayden) gets a solid century.
3. Old Wizard (Kumble) get a 'Fifer.
4. ज़हीर की इच्छा जग ज़ाहिर
5. Ponting foxed with a beauty, a must see dismissal.
Now the Questions1. Why was Bhajji intent on bowling a leg stump line?
2. Will India polish of the tail?
3. Will India batsmen see the new ball off?
4. Can we turn on the heat, enough?
Cricket: Up above, down under.
The series to watch, perhaps it is slowly towards more of India-Aussies than India-Pak I am not alone who thinks so. Let result be what it shall be, lets just play some sublime; edge of the seat stuff. This series marks the transition of sorts it will be a the last big one for big five, Tendulkar, Kumble, Saurav, Rahul, Laxman, a starters for some one like Yuvraj, a learning curve for Jaffer and Sehwag may be just hoping he get a chance he will make it count or else he will be a by goner.
More or less, the less of it.
The pitches in India-Pakistan were deadly the tracks were dead and barren off display of being the host and it exposed what Indian team primarily lacks. The knock out punch. India to win a series down under needs 80 wickets. I hope someone does a Houdini and gets a bulk of them. If one seeks balls going at ankle level on the first morning of a test there is no point watching the match further. One could play twenty days and still struggle to see light at the end of the tunnel
Ganguly the greatest, other than Houdini.
Ganguly did a Houdini act a century at home ground, The Eden Gardens and double century following in Bangalore. The only thing good of it was he spent time in the middle not against the quality one wished for. Ganguly did his best in the Banglore test. But it’s much easier to score of Arafat when you are batting at 60 rather than when Shoaib is steaming full pace, breathing down your neck you are well past a century. It takes nothing of the sheen of the century but just adds an exclamation; will poor show by Ganguly Down Under make his previous series an ordinary one? Time will be a witness to that. What I did not like was the fact that he said that he would have scored more runs if he were to bat higher up the order all through his career. He was a captain for a few years did he ever mull opening the batting in Test matches, perhaps Ganguly knows the answer best. You can’t get much higher than opening the batting. Will he open in Australia? I say we would be moving to next cricketing funda.
It was more a taunt than regret. I know you are doing great but greatness isn’t achieving something but keep on repeating excellence at every given opportunity.
Can Ganguly enforce a draw against the Aussies in tough conditions?
Aussie dilemma?
All pace attack or a spinner in a Hogg? What would you pick? The Indian batting may rattle against quality pace but if you have Tait and Lee who spray it a bit all over the stuff then it become an issue. Whats plan B, Andrew Symonds? The there is Laxmania. Ponting has gone on record saying they are still to solve the Laxman riddle. It tough coz he can offer more than one stroke to any side of the wicket to ball pitched virtually anywhere. I think he will do well in pressure situation.
Indian task more than Herculean.
India is up against Aussies and umpires on the field, not so friendly Aussie media (ask Johhny Wilkinson) but there is one thing for sure that Aussie media respects encourages and honours quality.
I want India to win but it is a tough ask. It is not only that they have to get over the Aussies they also have to get up against ordinary umpiring that is always observed in Australia is it all due to the media or something else. It is deplorable. Sachin shouldered wicket 8 years back. The last series which India played down under, Langer was awarded immunity to LBWs, Steve Waugh couldn’t give out, and it was his last series. India getting over awful umpiring is a bigger hurdle than beating Aussies at home. Didn’t it come in the papers that how Rudi Koertzen was apologetic of giving Sangakarra out on 192. I thought doubt always goes to the batsmen. I believe when playing down under the benefit of the doubt always goes baggy green way. Ask a cricket follower, over the ages Umpiring in Australia has been ridiculous and atrocious. This is one more reason why I want India to beat Aussies such is there worth. Win at all cost.
Who do I bank on?
A Wall. The Wall. He will take it all and not give an inch. He has such a forte that India’s performance walk hand in hand with his batting geniuses. He may be short of runs but not out of form. I just wish he thinks of rotating the strike rather than just consume over after overs. India cannot win if Wall doesn’t set any foundations.
Tendulkar is not far off by any means. The Tendulkar show has graduate from fighting fire with fire to standing firm at times and holding back the charge if required. I want at least for once to see what he did in Perth all that years back. I have not seen any off it. I was way too young. He has to pull weight into the series and not only tire their bowlers but smack them into oblivion.
Laxman well you can’t just bowl to him on one side of the wicket coz he is pure wrist and a treat to watch along with Vaughan real class. Laxman will probably do well, he has to do it to put runs on the board and make Aussie stretch. I hope he keeps weaving the magic and let there be a very very special batting display of deft touch wrist flicks.
Sehwag. Let’s play Contra blast anything that gets to your, its perhaps your hour of redemption. Sehwag you got 195 last time, get some more and offer all that u got a dasher batsmen, decent fielder and cunning offie. Aussies don’t read offies that well they never did, Jasu Patel( knocked off Aussies in 50), Jim Laker (19 wickets in a match, bet that), Harbhajan (hat trick, 32 wickets in 5 innings),
What can Kumble do?
Bowl googly. Well he can do that but perhaps the best thing he would do is let the batsmen do the playing as no India batsmen is in the helm of affairs, there could be a better mental preparation. He can be in better control. He would like to be the first to do what no Indian captain has done. He had a rich haul of wickets last time he was around.
There has to be good contribution in terms of sticking to the wicket by our openers, good fielding, not dropping catches, decent bowling sticking to basics even if Aussies go after you.
More or less, the less of it.

I am back from Ahmedabad. You talk to any Gujarati about Ahmedabad and u while definetly get a warm response. No Gujarati (alive or dead) would curse Ahmedabad/Amdavad (from now on Ahd) for anything. It is the sentimental capital of Gujarat. Anyways there are ways to see it, it bustling city for sure. C.G. Road and Sarkhej Gandhinagar are places to be to freak out. U get Goal gappa at any place u can turn your head.
I couldnt go around much but went to Swaninarayan Temple. The drive from Sabarmati, where I was lodged to Gandhinagar was awesome. It was truply great coz Gandhinagar has tree lined roads ... atleast the ones on the highway and it was refreshing.
The weather in Ahd was perfect. It got cold as we were about to head back to Surat. It was fun though. I did make it a point to go to Sabarmati' Gandhi Ashram and took some snaps. I was late in the evening who they arent so great. But it felt good there.I patted my back to be there. Its ironic may be a tribute that at the end of the road where the Ashram is located there is this big cirle which boasts of Netaji statue. I think both great men would see it as honor to be side by side. They had ideological differences but respected each other imensely. It shookh me every time I passed through that road but I think it was beffitng for both.
A few hours back ...
I pull out a mobile from my pocket ... select "contacts" and start saying why wait for the right gir when the worng ones are so sexy" and get Sudeep''s number .. I dial the "code" (Number witheld for unsecure reasons) and here a song from Jab we met. The enrgetic voice seem content after taking SNAP test. I too had done they same, he sounded energetic and a sense of relief.Itsn't that he had given SNAP and I had called him,it was his birthday and it was SNAP as well. I hope he has a happy memory of this day and perhaps he will remember this day (of this year) for some odd achievement.
So Sirjee u may be readin this on Google reader, wish u a happy birthday again party shayad result ke baad ... :)
I am a legend.
Saw the movie if u have not seen it, then add Cast Away to Resident evil and u will get I am a legend, starring Wills Smith. I am not into fiction movies, palle hi nahi padhti yaar. So didnt think it was paisa vasool, by the way I am still contemplating whether to pay for the ticket ... Plus there is too much reliability on graphics, I am an old school guy prefer to see mysteries comdies and off course action stuff.
Eggs rule the roost.
There is this Laari (lorry/local eatery/Junk food joint) at Rustumpura ... near Chowk downtown Surat ... suratis dont bite me ...
Me and my friend drove off the that Ganesh L, world famous in Surat for eggs. He prepares them in more ways then u cn imagine. After having Keemo and Tameta fry (srambeled egg and tomato curry) me and my friend thanked each other for coming along and a Thumbs bottle ended the self paid treat.
We went back to join our friends who were still there at this Revolving restraunt munching on roasted chicken. The drive back home was quick. Its getting colder by the day but its just right to roam around and have some Ponk (jowar preparation) Corn, nimbu soda, eggs in any form or prepartion and if there is a chicken roasted then nothing like it.
Its one and one post that I wanted to do is done.

Blog: Lost time and blogs
Well, lots of things happening. My family got extended, I got a promotion, I am a proud Uncle of a baby Boy named Aaryan, my bhabhi and brother were blessed with a baby boy on 28 of last month and things have been just buoyant since then. I am still to see all the snaps of my cute nephew. My brother did send me some but then managed to see just a few of those. I was all the while thinking of a girls name but then fate had something other in store. I remember all the fist fights and arguements and the fun at times I and my brother use to have, there was never enough. I was really happy for my parents coz after going through thick and thin of life the pleasure of grand child is good enough to be sniffed. I need a UK visa coz the baby was born in the UK and now my family has NRI blood running in the veins.
My parents will hopefully make it to UK soon, while I will bide my time and wait for my brother and his young song to come back home.Well the young chap has a brat of an example already to teach him the trick of all the trades. It was the earliest Diwali gift that I ever got.
Whats coming up next?

Cricket: Consistent India cricket.
What is consistency?
Agarkar bowling 10 overs for 60 run (at least).
I have to start with him.
Tendulkar consistently hitting runs and his critics and hiding in bad form all of a sudden and not kicking on after sticking for so long.
Yuvraj Singh hitting sixes.
Sreesanth getting Symonds
Symonds walloping sixes all over.
India consistently losing
Aussies consistently winning.
Aghast Indian cricket fans.
From-the-sublime-to-the-ridiculous News Channels.
The ball trickling over to the boundary after two Indian fielders have escorted it the boundary.
The ball clearing fence after Harbhajan gifted a second full toss in the over.
I blogging over how consistent Indian cricket and the paraphernalia is.
Look at it this way.
The eyes see what they look at and not how things really are. Tendulkar at times get suck into shell. He is the most thrilling batsmen to watch ever. He hits out of form out of no where, he gets stuck in a rut out of no reason what so ever. One may ask why gunning for Tendulkar, why not Dravid. He got a peach of a delivery. He was out for nothing. Tendulkar got stuck in middle and was finding hard to rotate strike. I can’t believe that, coz he is one batsman who has more than one stroke for any sort of delivery. He has to fire, if he isn’t then the game is bigger than anyone who has ever played it. I seriously think he should give up ODIs, he is consistently hinted how demanding the sport is becoming. The likes of Tendulkar and Ganguly are in the way of likes of Gambhir (evolving), Utahappa (he too is an opener) and Sehwag if one may add. Ganguly and Tendulkar have nothing less than fabulous but they will give way to youngsters sooner rather than later.
Yuvraj hitting some purple patch.
He is a wonderful timer of cricket ball and hits sixes as effortless as India bowlers bowl gift balls. He is in some form. He has to bat at two down max. He played with some form and has been doing really really well, for once he stuck a century and India lost. Do you know that he crossing 50 is one of the signs India winning, check out the stats? But then there are a few more issues that I will list them. It was the perhaps the silver lining of the cloud.
Is it to hard to imagine?
Utahappa, Gambhir, Tendulkar, Yuvraj, Rohit Sharma, Dhoni, Pathan, Zaheer. The other should be filled on the basis of form and fitness. This is the ideal line up. There would be a great fix over Sehwag but at present, he is not quiet there. He is there coz he is know playing a flash in the pan game he come and he sees and he is seen off. He has bounded himself by Law of Marginal Returns. He has forgotten that he too can play straight? percentage cricketing shots. But his time will come.
Why the Indians lagging?
Dhoni is a new captain, he has too think of too many things, but one thing is for sure, when an Indian wicket falls the new batsmen is greeted with a slip fielder already in place and when India bowlers take wicket the new batsmen sees long and long off on the boundary, the point fielder sweeping, the midwicket fielder right at the edge of the circle and a hapless Indian bowler guilty of taking wicket and a keeper with sans a hair band and locks so lovely that he may give a chase to the girl doing a Shampoo ad. I am not against Dhoni keeping long locks. I am just jealous coz I can’t grow my hair so long.
Did you see Clarke bat when he hit a century did u Symonds in this match if you have the patience of seeing the whole of the respective innings the gentlemen played you would have notice that for Clarke there was a second slip and he edged Pathan for four and Symonds snicked Tendulkar did he edged it to four as well? There was obviously no fielder employed and Symonds would send at least half a dozen Christmas invitations to Dhoni and Co.
The sad part is there would be more blogs like this coz there would be more Indian performances like these.

Blog: Sunday Times.
When in Surat do as the Surti does ...
Well it is a Sunday, I had a class in lieu of prepration for the big CAT, which get everyone purring for cover. I just missed a date with a Swiss Miss, the most delicious chocolate pastry you will have. It is a sheer delight. It is so lite, and the pocket just feels lighter before you have one. Well now that I am earning it doesn't count much.
Plan of the coming evening ...
There are colleagues which are coming in. I stay just outskirts of Surat, from where office is nearer. MY parents have shifted back to Mumbai so bit more fun freaking out. There is a lot to do, you can have some great Ponk, thats amercan born, boiled and all ready to be eaten. There is a new sizzler join, or a tradtional food at Gangaur where India junk food can be eaten. Then there are Sandwiches waiting in other corner of the city. Then there is the famous "Khau Galli" where u get everything of quantity. There is a close thelawala who coks some great dishes from scrambled, boiled, omlettes, just awesome, must eat needless to say. Then there are falooda to be had once evening turns night. If nothing beckons it will be chicken at Sugar n Spice.

It is not exactly a Yo Yo is happening but I see a bubble in the market thats happening and when things get to rosy u get a bit thorn in your flesh. A thousand points without a correction, I see a big slump. I hope it does, just for your attention Stocks like RNRL climed 35% in one day. My friend put forward an interstig fact, although the markets are marching forward, reliance stocks across the board are correcting. I thnk it is high time people booked some profits. It is a the right time.
There are stocks like Tata Power who have climbed from Rs 640 something to a mighty Rs850.
I over heard joking buying Ispat stell for a 100 shares, it is quoted at just Rs 28. I am tempted to buy something as well, but then things are two awry right now, lets see, I need to buy a few things more. The CAT formsare up for sale, the MBA colleges just should hand a pdf file on their sites and ask for CCHeque or Demand draft that will make forms a bit more accessible, only thing is just the form number but then people in IT field would have more than one ready asnwer for this one. It is no rocket science.
I am contemplating a laptop. But the made a few investments and markets just soared.I just wish to keep a tab on it. But buying a laptop at this point in time will perhaps not be a hole in a pocket, I will stipped of all my earning to date. So lets see, but one eye is on a nice lapy for sure.
See it; buy it.

A few cakes of detergents, a few pakcets of eatbles, achar ki bottle, some farsan for emergency stock of midnite supper. I am dearly in a modd to have Maggi Noodles.I just bought a pair of denims and sport shoes a while back. :)
I hope I get time to write more coz a big weekend is coming up. the secondof october marks birth anniversary of two great men. A cousin of mine is also celebrating his birthday. I havent meet him in years. I will catch up with him once I get to Mumbai.

Cricket: India conquer 20-20
It was a cliff hanger. I just remember the burst of crackers and pyro the moment Sreesanth held to Misbah catch at short fine leg. He held on it it for dear life and Dhoni lifted the T-20 World Cup. India dismantle some good teams on their way to the world cup, proving that best of abilities wont get you much, but best of performance surely will. India performed well. They won coz the beat the best teams in business. It included, Pakistan (twice) England (not highly rated, obviously) South Africa, Australia.
South Africa being the best balanced they always seem to have more than three all rounders. Boucher will always bat, Kallis,(did not play in the Cup!) Pollock, Morkel, Hall, Kemp and I may add Gibbs coz he is a damn good fielder.
Aussies well they know to win in every format on that can be played, their team hardly changes be it Test, ODI, T-20. They are a very good team but surprisingly there are not too many all rounders, only specialist, there is scope to get into their fifth bowlers but you seldom see it coz their planning is so good, along with the execution.. So when India scored big there is every chance of a team defending if two of the bowlers fire.
India missed a big heart bowler.
I felt Zaheer Khan should have played this series. India looked way out. It is taxing this format coz couple of bad balls just can give the momentum to the opposition. India at the moment doesn’t have a bowler who can sent shiver into the spine, forget the shiver, they may not even send a cautionary note. It is not about the pace but place too. Bret Lee and Shane Bond were dispatched all over the park, they were the fastest, but it is normal to see couple of Indian bowlers go above six an over in ODI. I think the better thing would be to bowl to a set field, I mean why bother too much, being a pro bowl to your strength sert the field coz batsmen men will always give a chance if he is tied down, by setting an offside field and bowling full on leg stump will only help the batsmen to score runs.
Catch ‘em ma’an
Did u have a look at the fielding? Indian fielding and they bowling extra’s is the indication of whether India is playing well or not. They some how manage to put a decent show if they field well which is not something they do regularly. India fielded well in general. The youngster inclusion perhaps added to this but there was a discipline for one and all to see. There was also a sense or urgency in cutting down the angles. The running between the wickets was a treat to watch. Sehwag I think did well in this, but I am still far from impressed with his batting. He looks to play only a cut shot which is causing him to get in and get out before you can say “I”.
Vice Versa.
I think T-20 will influence the game of cricket for sure. It will directly impact the 50 over game or it may out shine it. But tighten up your seat belts as cricket will hasten up and may quicken up the pace. The scope of stopping runs will go on increasing and teams will be separated by the way the field coz there would be close finish between the international teams. We had hit over 200 and England matched us only to go down fitting. West Indies had butchered SAfs only to be butchered by Gibbs and they lost defending 200! WI have forgotten how to win. I hope they remember what is it too win a cricket match. I mean by now I think there would be middle aged won cooking up stories of what a potent force WI use to be. Well across the Atlantic in England there would be mythic going around with stories of English knights braved dragons and winning cricket tournaments. It is a sorry state.
But there is enough seen in t-20 where an old folk may ask u to go back to the basic, run hard, be quick on feet, stick around for partnerships and look for percentage cricket. The T-20 perhaps will keep this game of cricket, a game of glorious uncertainties.
A cricket match will never be over until the last run is scored of last wicket is taken.
Flying back home.
So the ministers and BCCI officials were given the first row seats, Dhoni was there too, he was felicitated and so were his over the moon hyped “Daredevils”. India won a World Cup 24 years later … well that caught my cricketing mind spinning. I mean come on can u ignore truth and still hold onto to your conscience. If I am not wrong, under Dada’s captaincy we won the Mini World Cup, the knock out, actually we shared it along with Sri Lanka but we were winners of the tournament and there too we beat good teams, wonder no ones mention that. I hope no one noticed that ever, coz the eye see what they want to see.
Cash in on T-20
It is a money spinner for everyone, hosting board, participating board, spectators, betters and also cricket players. The news channels hyped in so did the broadcasters. The government poured some money over players who played exceptionally well. So all in all it was an enriching experience.
Bottom Line.
I got a forward in which which quoted former president, respected APJ Abdul Kalam, “India will be a super power in 20-20”.

Cricket: High octane performance.
T20 is fast it is so fast that before I decided I would blog of it and India were reeling at that time and in couple of days times, Aussies have been tamed as India beat Aussies in a close encounter. It was a high octane performance. Indians started cautiously before
Sehwag’s principle of batting/ Law of (Sehwag’s) Marginal Return.
Virender Sehwag who has now convinced everybody that run must be scored only behind point. He plays on the principle of higher risk-quicker returns but sadly it is just high risk cricketing shots and Sehwag’s quick return to the dug out. It is atrocious, it is sad to know that he “can” play in the straight direction but moving away and losing balance of or not shift/getting in the position for optimum of balance, necessary to play a jumping ball is perhaps he is missing the plot. Sehwag may not play I think coz of a pulled muscle in the thigh/groin, there is a small asterisk labeled “conditions apply”. He is deadly coz is he starts firing Pakistan/any team will go on an extensive leather chase of Dhoni will pull his flocks out of his head. The only positive coming out is perhaps rotating the strike and taking sharp singles.
All said and done just coz India has had a decent opening partnership, makes middle order really potent. Yuvraj has lambasted the attacks by getting big runs in double quick time. I just have one inhibition of big hitting, the player must be good enough to carry it through to the end over or else if one wicket may cause a slump which may be tough to recover.
I would love to see Utahappa opening along with Gambhir.
Princely Yuvraj.
Well this is format tailor cut for people like Yuvraj. The ball wont do much coz pitched will be flat, white ball losses shine early and there aren’t many spinners bowling to him. Anyways his six sixes were an absolute delight. Stuart Broad looking to heavens every time he bowled. Flintoff antics of jeering Yuvraj proved too good for Broad. Gibbs has done that in WC this year and Yuvraj himself gulped the insult when h was stuck for five sixes. He is the best finished in limited over cricket. If he hits a fit India invariable (9 out of 10 times) goes on to win the match. Yuvraj, Dhoni, Razzaq, McCullum, Symonds, Hussey, Boucher, these names come to mind when you talk of finish. The hit it and they remain a hit. They all are good runner and hitters so even if they are not hitting it they can clearly getting close to eight an over playing what I call “Percentage Cricket”.
Well fielded.
The Indians have picked themselves up in the field. It has definitely improved. It is less patchy with coming in of youngsters. It is good to see them saving singles and pulling of some neat catches. The catch that came to Kart hick of Smith’s edge off RP Singh was a smack down and triggered a collapse for Safes who not only lost the match but also failed to get into Semis. Poor chaps. Ravi Shastri said on air,” Indians have caught Safes pants down in their own den.” ROFL.
Success hides a few blotches.
I am not convinced that Pakistan and India are matched man to man and it is all evens. Pakistan top order looks fragile, they may not always fire. But when they play India it is not another match, it is “the” match. They don’t have bowlers of Agarkar’s class who gifts boundaries at will and makes a decent captain look naive. Pakistan is a mind of fast bowling. They have enough of them to cause any team a trouble. Let me cite an example Kiwis whacked Indians in ending over when they played, I mean the conditions were so bad that being stuck for just 3 fours in an over was considered economical. If u shifts focus towards Pak bowlers they gave nothing away to Kiwis and Aussies it was amazing to watch nothing came by for either team and scoring 6 an over in last five over bowled by Pak bowlers could be considered good.
We lack good bowlers who can bowl to take wickets. There aren’t many and they don’t have that quality too. I don’t see any bowler in the present line up coming onto bowl and not being carted for boundaries. There is enough testimony; Aussies almost blasted us out couple of over more of Symonds and Hayden and who knows. Agarkar is always a burden coz if nothing he will come into is own by bowling short and wider and following it wait way outside middle stop line of attack. He did not impress much in England. Either. Zaheer is being missed. A good team always has an exceptional bowling attack. It is about getting right combinations of fast bowlers who are willing to toil luckless and wait till they woo success over. I don’t exactly see em coming. There have to be at least two bowlers who can bowl tight and carry on the good work that the opening bowlers or control the damage that the opposing batsmen would have caused. I think our bowling has been exposed, Pakis almost won the last time, NZ took us to cleaners, Aussies left no stoned unturned and England also canned the India bowling only to loose out too much too soon.
Kara Bhajan, Harbhajan.
Well he is doing a very good controlling job. A better field setup and may be he attacking for couple of balls may not be anything Dhoni would look into. If Turbunator keep things in check, wickets may follow. it is the only way to knock the wind of the sails. He has to be little for miser one believes for him to be more effective.
Dream final
India vs. Pakistan can it get any bigger? It will be a fight of the big hearted, Pakistan hold the upper hand coz they have better bowlers. India would do well to score anything over 150 batting first and may be if they have a top order bowing out then there may be a chance, but Pakis start famous to win.

Cricket: Catch 20-20
The catch 22 will soon gave cath 20-20.The only agony is adds, i thionk they have to still formulate a way to show the action live and dont let ads screw up the fun ... thats why i feel at times football serves well.
Too many things are likely to happen in twenty twenty before u bat an eyelid.
A complete cricket fan story.
India vs Pakistan has to be a sell out. I heard Hussain joking that atleast coule of people would watch that one, it was a good one while wtahcing the watch i turned my head behind my back ad the count was 15, me excluded. It has to be a pack house anywhere.
Anyways I was a bit late afta dinner, the score card read 9-2, i thought well lets see whats happening.
Asif ......... tere bin ....
He is good, he has got pace and amazing thing called control. He can take it both ways and bowls a line which is really nagging, as nagging as a mother in law. ANyways he bowled three dot balls and Gambhir felt the pinch. One must know that Asif holds the distinction of bowling the first maiden in 20-20. Anyways the flood gates opened... i mean flood gates for wickets. Sehwag played what he played best, a nothing shot. I mean u facing someone with great control and pitching is making the ball dart around, doesn't it make sense to see what it is like spenidng time in the middle. Sehwag can shred any attack to bits provided he puts sense to what he is upto ... I mean doing anything blindly is insane.
I am not a big fan of Karthick, cause he has to be consistent. The ball that got him was a beauty and would have tested anybody, he couple of gutsy blows got Utahappa going. One over extra was a beauty.
Uthappa on his own.
Gutsy is the word for him. He is a very good hitter down the ground and thats class. A couple od sixes if hanid really turned the tide is not for some rain India looked well to getting some more.
Give it to the Pak bowlers.
India vs Paak has always been India batsmen vs Paki bowlers. Pak will have no dearth of bowlers, thay just come from nowhere and mean bussiness and have a lot of flair. The new bowler Tanvir who bowled of the wrong foot kept Dhoni and Utahappa in check. It was for him that Utahappa was out following a number of rain intervention ...
Pathan vs Pathan.
Irfan Pathan beltwe to towering sixes and wallopped Afridi out of the park. Those were huge stuff, something what India may have been missing off late.
Bang bang and gone. He was bowled following two sixes.
Indian bowling.
Agarkar has sleepeless lint is he doesnt give up easy hit me balls, man come alive, dont srew it up. I think there is not dearth of talent we have to find someone who is a bit more tidy then Agarkar coz he goes plenty. I thought he have a bright chance before he came in and screwed it up big time last four overs gone for 54. can u believe it? I mean some expierenced Pak player would have creamed it. I for once thought of giving sehwag and Yuvi a ball in the middle.
Harbhajan on a bhjan.
He bowled beautifully to Afridi and fooled him twice and then got him the second time to restrict Afridi is no mean task. Afridi went and then it was a Pak show.
In the end.
India played the right card Harbhajan Sehwag and Utahappa pulled it of for India. I thought Pak bowlers would cream it up but they couldn't enforcing India to come on top of the group. Well done.

Well done.

Cricket: India lose series
Flintoff is the difference between joy of victory and grimace of a series loss. India won the test, needless to say Flintoff was injured, Flintoff played more than half the series and India lost.
Writing is on the Wall.
Dravid sometimes make shocking declarations followed by honest addmissions. India did well so did Dravid, but that declaration is test was never to be.One more rocking thing, y wasnt yuvaj, now almost slated for a fixed position for ODI was asked to come in at three down. I think Yuvraj deserves to be 2 down, at number four. If yuvraj finishes playing the 50 overs no matter where he comes in, India will look to be in a decent competitive postion if not a winning one. Thats the magic of Yuvraj.
There is no point saying Aleem dar gave in some cocky decision, India could be more than competitive if people stuck to task and played the full 50 overs. It is a crime not to play the full quota of overs. India fell short of playing 15 deliveries, imagine 25 runs more.
Jewel in a dust
Seeing Piyush chawla ripping it across Pietersen, with latter having no clue was mesmerising it was edge of the seat stuff. He and powar bowled well all series. Thi send marks perhaps a battle which may rage on in times to come. Piyush Chawla vs kevin Pietersen, keep a track on that.
Why is Vaughan not there is a puzzle? I mean he will score better than Matt prior even with his eys close. Cook Vaughan to open KP one down Collingwood two down Bell next followed by Shah or Wright next, Flintoff and Prior and then the bowlers, Prior, Collingwood and Flintoff giving very fexibility along with some more spinners a decent batsmen, looks good for NEgland provided they play more.
India I think Sachin and Sourav are in way of some serious talent. Gambhir, Uthappa, Sehwag, and some more known and unknown players would be praying for doors to be opened soon. I mean I would not mind Tendulkar retire or atleast be selective in the games he play.I hope Tendulkar retires one year down the line. He must focus on test and thats where a bit more fun is missing.
India did well to come up 3-3. The oval match was a edge of seat stuff ...
Twetny 20 is up next, hopefully India wont crash out before the cup really gets underway.

Cricket: Series victory in grasp.
Winning is a habit. It is a good habit something no winning team or individual will like to loose. England find themselves being hypnotized to a famous series defeat. It is presumptuous but for every Indian cricket fans sake let’s believe that Indians will the match and the series 2-0.
Indian team a more than a billion reasons to enjoy. England have been marred by the best bowler Flintoff and Harmisson not playing but then that’s not the excuse for losing, their deplorable batting in the First innings of the second test gave Indians the key to the door. I take pride in the way Indians bowled then. RP and Zak making the ball swing and English were clueless. There top batsmen were at wits end. It would not be the same in The Oval, but India are in the drivers seat with the victories to the key in slot hands on the steering wheel, feet at the pedal and enough fuel in the fuel tank and enough power in them to drive home a very famous victory. I hope the rain doesn’t puncture this car! (scepticism is something difficult to give up).
The point is England will (or must,?) loose.
A brief sojourn of the second day third test.
Look whose batting.
Sunny Gavsakar loves to see Laxman bat … me too.Laxman climbed upto more than 5000 runs great feat in itself. His skill and talent is paramount I just hope he improves his fitness.
Sachin and Laxman.
Ram millaye jodi … Sachin and Laxman would dream of the position they walked in. The openers did their job and Rahul Darvid played beautifully till he was knocked of a dream delivery, more on that on this blog later. They played and Vaughan would have felt his heart sinking. The made sure that runs would flow never mind a few edges. Prior, the Sulk dropped a sitter again. Laxamn was dismissed for 54.I thought I would see the blistering century.
Sachin meanwhile is not even a shadow of his old self. It looks to be more in control, over control. Meanwhile some on the edge stuff in Ireland against South Africa I thought he would be all over England but there wasn’t to be a century. I hope he has atleast a couple in One Dayers. He limped his way to 82 only to get out of a good delivery, getting out caught behind poking at outswinger to first slip.
Indians high on MSD.
I played some spanking drives. He was on 49 and played a straight drive which I imagined would be just a single, but the ball kept grazing to the boundary, MSD on 53. he then played 4 fours and 4 sixes and I kept on leaping higher in the air as I thought India would make atleast 550. There was more to come. Dhoni scurry two straight and flat sixes of Monty. Next over to Pietersen block block bang block bang boom. Two dots two huge sixes and MSD doomed. Well played MSD a century and who know but well done.
Poor Ganguly.
His not so good form with the bat continues. I think I am feeling sorry.he has been wrongly given out more than once in the series. I see a foreign hand in this. Its not my mistake, the umpires are from non contesting teams these days.I positive step taken in forward direction by ICC.
Look who’s batting.
In the mania for Indian batsmen, no one has given more victories to India then Anil Kumble. He is a short ball candidate. It has been a prime example of falling in the river and taking a bath. India “batsmen” have yet to have a century in their kitty. Anil Kumble proved to be an unlikely centurion. His century came on in unexpected ways, but something Kumble would cherish all his life. I wish to know what would Kumble love more, something he would love to reply, his ten wickets or his century. I think he will savour this century, who know he might take 10 in second innings, after all cricket is the game of glorious uncertainties. All right we must move ahead.
Dravid declares.
Dravid I think believes in weird declaration. Everyone would blame him for keep Tendulkar stranded close to a double century. I think that was brave. Do u imagine yourself in your shoes asking him to be back when he is threshold. He must have tempted to declare the innings as soon as Kumble got a tonne. But he stuck to the trenches and rubbed the salt into English wounds.I hope the end justifies the means. English are on the mat.India pilled on 664 before they were all out with Kumble deserved hogging the limelight for a savouring century at the fag end of his career. Well played Sir.
Say Hello to Mr. Anderson …
Anderson looks a bright prospect he looked out of rhythm but kept getting better although the series, looking hungry for wickets. He was responsible for fall of top Indian wickets including that of Jaffer, Sachin, Dravid. He took four, although spanked all over by Jaffer and Jaffer falling to him would have only pumped him up. The ball was reminiscent of Shoaib bowling Dravid and Sachin of consecutive deliveries, ony better. He bowled an outswinging Yorker to Dravid, stumbling him as he attempted to flick it and played all over it.

Blog: In the last week
I have this friend of mine. A real formal guy, at times contempating at most times worried. The poor soul had to face lot a ups and down in hostel. This guy called me up two weeks back and announced his engagment. I said ... let that be ... I was damn happy. I had talked to he "finacee" to be * a couple of time.
I was in Mumbai once, called him up and wanted to me the girl who happens to be his finacee now.He said ok. We met, I was curious where was she ... She was about to say something ... I got the point, I said worry not buddy beter luck next time.
Now jetting from an older flashback to just last week.
Saturday evening 4:30 PM.
I started fro Surat Station, I booked my tickets from Ahd to Jamanagar on the fone.I started whats was a long day.I jumped into a atrain with colleagues, one of the girls had an iPod which I managed to get hold off... so that helped.I took me ages, I mean 4 hours to get to Ahd.One of the good natured man dropped me to the nearest place where I was suppose to catch the bus.I had a few chocolates. Not been having some great fod off late.I sat into a bus realizing the AC blower is on at frull throttle.
Anyways the road went on and on. I was fast asleep ad at around 4 I got, to get a messgae from my friend saying to call him up as soon as I read this msg.It was I thought about not calling. The bus stopped. I climbed down realizing that the air outside was a bit more chiller than the AC of the bus.Anways I enjoyed the scene. At around 4:15 (AM) the bust which I had caught from Ahd at around 10:30 started again. I took a few more winks and then as I was counting down the milometers and time. I read a board of Munciapal Corporation of Jamanagr welcoing me. At around 4:45 I climed down to the instructed place. I called him up and my dear friends was there. I went home to catch a few winks.
Ziping to 10:30 AM.
waved and Intorduced myself, Hi I am Tarun Johri ... She was plaesing and damn good to talk too.I meanwhile did best of a tired feeling and a camera .. Clicked some snaps.
The couple was made in heaven bith looked charming and meanwhile priest were busy chanting I was busy gobbling sweets. i clicked some snaps. It was great meeting his parents and kith and Kin.Me and his friends had a great time. The ceremony went on smoothly. I was damn happy for him and his finacee who took center stage. I think my friend is lucky to have her. She seemed to be soft spoken and very caring. Not much laughs but lots of smile.
I and his friends had a good laughs as we had lunch with the happy couple. It was time to move out from Jamanagar.I think I was blessed to be there. I wished her well and hoped all the dreams and wishes come true.
The guy flew of to Aussie land last night and his finacee is flwying of to US. I wish the couple all bliss and happiness. I have been told the wwedding isn't anytime soon.

Cricket: India eyes series.
Indian cricket stocks have just hit the road after dismal one year or so. They have won handsomely. Rahul Dravid seeing India through along with Ganguly at the other end. The test fell in India lap on the first day itself. India bowling out England within 200. The game would be decided by how India would bat. The English collapse to 198 I thought they could have had more but India bowling looked in great tempo and using the conditions more effectively then the English bowlers. It was a treat to watch. The Indian bowling looked patchy at times but always looked getting wickets. Ganguly trapping Cook, Zaheer beating Vaughan for a caught behind and trapping Bell with a peach of an in swinging delivery which any left arm bowler would dream and perhaps Wasim (Akram!) would have been felt proud bowling that.
Indian first innings.
I guess Indian managed to play well and take max use of the conditions. They settled into bat knowing that they better bat big or else there was a fifth day collapse o cope up with. India is fighting hard coz they could be easily beaten by anyone if they have to bat to save the match on the last day. There is no one in Indian team who can bat out the last day on current form and fitness. More on this if Indians are beaten on the last day, trying to save a test.
Anyways as expected Karthick and Jaffer kept on plugging away and an opening century stand only reiterated that Indians would have at least made sure that the match would be forced for a draw. I could not see much of India’s batting I was busy attending an engagement in Jamnagar. It was worth a blog.
I kept the tab on score courtesy my mobile service provider updating me with the score. I knew what was exactly happening. India kept on digging into England as runs kept on coming thick and fast. Tendulkar wanting to have some say before the series ended. He was unlucky not to be there and do that, I mean score a century. The pitch was so flat that Ganguly too scored a strokeful 79. I hope Dhoni gets a bit more consistent with scoring or else Karthick is already breathing down his back.
English second Innings.
Michael Vaughan played his heart out. The innings was full of intricate and delighting stroke. He played Kumble with such ease that Kumble had to step back and admire what Vaughan’s was upto. His dismissal is a tale of how bowlers inform and hunting wickets will get good batsmen out. If Tendulkar was unlucky, then Vaughan stamped on an axe with Zaheer delivery ricochet of the thigh pad onto stumps. The rest of English batting just could guess which was Zaheer would swing it. All folded without much after scare Indian what would be a big big score.
The Pietersen dismissal made me jump out of my chair. It was an awesome pitch. RP bowled a sharp, really sharp swinging deliver round the stumps. The ball kept traveling inwards, take my word it swinged at least couple of feet, Pietersen shoulder arms and started walking. Collingwood played only to give in to Zaheer Khan who bowled unplayable stuff all day Zaheer India missed u for long. His fitness is no more a concern. South African tour was a big comeback for him. There is more for you Zaheer give us a series win, bowl them out and enjoy the rest of the show sitting on that balcony.
Indians wrapped up the match, easy.
Sachin dismissed for one and Indian still managed to get the score coz it was just 63 more to win from the overnight score. It is damn pleasing, but it is not over yet. I hoe they just don’t let things slip by and lose a golden opportunity of winning a series abroad. It is damn important, in that way the game has just begun; there are five more days to go.

There are friends of mine who often pull my leg but he will always score, doesnt matter if he may not win matches.
I am missing blogging.
Dont be put off, its off by 50%
Well 50% off can u believe it, the problem is it is not any one store, it is across, this post being writen by some one confined is space and time will only talk of local conditions.
Malls are in big time, it is a place where people come like flash flood and only a few buy. There are series of malls which have opened up needless to say the showrooms there are selling it big. The last week was spent going thru the stores and choosing what to but next.It is end of seasons sale, but which season, I mean summer ended as soon as shower poured all over, it is certainly nt end of "rainy" season coz it has not flooded as off yet ...
It was pouring for days before things lite up I hope there are not much rains when I m in Mumbai.I dont hate the rains in Mumbai, i just hate it when i get stuck in traffic, cos its like a system hanging out a power outage u can blame anything.
When do men buy?
I buy when I am in dire straits or when its diwlai I guess I m in dire straights of clothes a pair of denims couple of trousers would pinch a hole but I think I need to have a change of clothes.I am in a look out for :- (go thru it its not much long)
Man proposes God disposes. Hmmm.... I wish I had a memory recorder, I was thinking on something but then as happens I forgot about it. It is so taxing on self when u want to think about something and the damn thing gets lost in grey/gray :)

- Blue Denims, prefferably a darker colour,
- A red shirt, I am in love iwth that colour but ever seem to find a perfect shade.
- A white half seelves, I picked up one my friend said "You sure?" I think I wasnt, the size was small,
- Khakis, I love those something you want to wear when you want a things a bt cooler
- Black Trousers, not much flat fronts for me I love those pleated stuff. I prefer to be in vague rather than in vogue.
- A light coloured dark striped shirt.I have loved those as long as I remember. I had one with black strips and lightest of pink colours I use to love wearing it.
- Cap

Blog: Blogging Sundays.
It doesn’t rains it pours. It is not even pouring it is a heavy down pour of much awaited rains. Mumbai was already an oasis coz of rains I think if it rains at the existing pace, Surat may be deluged again. I pray not but the realistic scene is it has been raining since Saturday night, the week has begun but rains have not stopped. There are rains and there are issues which people would like to avoid. But when u has something you wish then you need to take it as a whole I mean positives and negatives of it.
Will the rose be still beautiful if there were to be no thorns around it?
Hello ….iss route ki saabhi liney ….
Rain rain every where not a drop to drink. A BMC official had remarked that they were ready for the rains, I think he was correct, they were ready but the city of Mumbai wasn’t. News not much of a help. More on News later.
How do u know if the city of Mumbai is flooded if u don’t happen to be living in the city?
Have u ever heard f MTNL. It stands for “Mera Telephone Nahi Lagta.”. The full form was perhaps coined in the last decade of the last century coz MTNL people could never get u a telephone connection in time. I just try to called up my folks, the landline was sounded busy I called up my father courtesy cellphone, it is one of the better things that has happened in India is the past decade. He told me that he was expecting my call and there has been no call on the landline for sometime now. Anyways all said an done.
What do u do when it rains?
You eat corn, can’t have just one, and have two. We people had arranged a vehicle; we can request one in office and tend to get it at times. Well the thing was it was packed it poured we made a few phone calls, Then we reached this theater where the Hindi version of Die Hard 4 was showing. Surat goes berserk on Sundays and there is lots of traffic at certain sections of the town. Anyways we went to this place were Surat people hang out, we had Bhutta (Corn) all spiced and spruced, you could have it all evening dripping in rain which was at times drizzle at times trifle and at times a barrage. They cook it in a different style here; they boil the corn and then roast it without peeling it. I and my friend then we rushed to Big Bazaar bought soaps and detergents and things like those moved out to watch Die Hard. We burned up nearly 1000 rupees in 15 minutes flat. That includes time for standing in the queue paying for the damages of the pocket.
Die Hard 4; Review.
It is an awesome action movie, seen an action movie after a long time, enjoyed it through and through. Spidey 3 was much more of an animation show, this was the real stuff. I think I don’t mind seeing it second time.
There have not been many movies which I have seen more than once on the big scree. One thing is for sure watching it on TV isn’t as fun as it is on the big screen.
No bald man other than Bruce was pulling out this one.

About: First Aid.
I attended a training programme on “First Aid”. I learnt many things from it and will hopefully apply these things in coming future. I learnt lot many things and opened my ideas how to use things which are available on hand. It is a question of life and death and how in seconds we can save a persons life. It is all about being aware of the situations and going in with a plan.
I learnt how to classify wounds what kind of physical symptoms indicate what. Believe me there is lot can each one of us can do which would be smart way of ensure making sure stitch in time saves nine. Obviously prevention is better than cure but things do happen and we would prove ourselves to be very good if we can minimize the damage and save human life.
It was also good fun carrying people in for special case like if they are unconscious or in pain or may be down due to fracture.
We had drills for CPR. We were taught how to approach the patient and how deal with it.
The steps were demarcated as “DR ABC”
D: Danger, look out for any sort of impending danger, eliminate it and then only attend the patient or else the patient will have your company.
R: Repsonse, check for response of the patient. If the patient is conscious things ease out, if the patient doesn’t just keep calm. Call for help, Don’t show off the bravado in you, there is a big chance you may screw it BIG TIME.
A: Airway: Asphyxia is the main cause of most death related to accidents or non accidental deaths as well. Make sure the chin if held right up and head is right back with an exception of the patient being a victim of a big fall.
What happens is die to gravity the tongue tends to get back into the respiratory track causing a blockage and air is prevented from getting to the lungs, with the chin right up u can avoid this.
B: Breathing: Look for signs of breathing, you know what happens when u breathe and likely to know if the person is breathing or not.
C: Circulation: Please check for Pulse preferably one besides the adam’d apple in the neck.
Circulation is vital and CPR is to be only given if the victim/patient has no pulse and breathing.
