There are many matches in cricket which often proved to be one sided. India-Pakistan matches wouldn't be one of those. This India vs Pakistan match slated to be a good one.It proved to be all too good and dwindle down soon as Raina and Sehwag made 300 run chase look ridiculously boring. That what no one ever imagine, India-Pakistan matches being boring.
Oh no not again.
Shoaib Mallik and Salaman Butt started cautiously hardly scoring anything in first dozen overs.Their strategy of conserving wickets on a dead pan wicket paid huge dividends. Pakistani players are accustomed to tearing apart any form of bowling at the death, mean while their bowlers can keep it cool with some degree of control they excercise.Anyways Shoaib Mallik will get a respite for a centruy he hit that too against India. At least for now his head would be off the Guillitone. Misbha looked terrible in IPl is hitting into form perhaps a big score against India is on its way. Younis Khan again a very good bastman piled on the agony for India and followed a century in Dhaka in the finals with a half century in Karachi for a losing cause. I am sure Pakistan would have thought they have a fair chance after thy got Gambhir cheaply. But Rains and Sehwag had other plans.Indian bowler were thrashed. All right the pitch was flat but then containment has to be thought of if taking wickets is not happening. It wasnt to be, dimunitive Piyush Chawla wasnt spared too, unalbe to take wickets and pounded byt the batsmen, the stage was set for the on slaught. One can blame the pitch but common sense should have prevailed instead of giving two fours an over. Pakistan score a competitive 300, before the sorry unfold in not the manner which Pakistan would have imagined.
The madmonk Sehwag.
The original Mad monk, Rasputin would have pulled out all his hair if he were to see Sehwag bat. I seems all slam shut case when he bats and looks real edge of the seat stuff when it comes off. It did come off and Pakistan surrendered withought giving a fight. He clobered them all over the park and made Pakistani bowling look very ordinary. It looks bizzare the way he bats. He was only playing a risky cut short before he had a slump in his form and dumped from the team. But he looks a fitter in form cricketer as off now.In ODIs and Test the mad-monk Sehwag vitrually makes it him vs Pakistan affair provided he is plundering runs. He was out in wilderness a year back but that was then atleast for now he is scoring runs faster then before. He has scored a triple and doible century against Pakistan in Pakistan so that is a big boost. A century went a begging in Bangladesh but not to be so. I think this has just come at the right time for him. I think Pakistan have their back against their wall in their own backyard.
He creamed an effortless century tonking 5 towering sixes and in thr process made Ramiz Raja, former Paksitani Cricketers and present commentator officially his biggest fan and a brand ambassador.
Raina rains runs.
Raina is making most of this opportunity, Dhoni helped him by giving him the number he wants to bat.He score 84 and there was a brief period when he outscored Sehwag in runs and strike rate. If you are in Pakistan, playing against Pakistan and outscoring Sehwag for runs and dtrike rate then you are in a peak form. Will the consitent factor bug Rains ony time will tell but he has done very well do hold his fort in Sehwag presences. This may have taken the pressure off Sehwag and helped him not only making runs but also scoring a very crucial century.
There is a problem of plent for selection commitee so much so once Pakistan toured was considered to be the toughfest tours, now doesnt even features the big troika of Sachin-Dravid-Ganguly. Their are bowlers, allrounders namely Pathan brothers, spinners and off course the batsmen it would be good to see how Kirsten and Dhoni rotate the players.
I think Dhoni juggles what he says to media and messages he relays to his players. He hit a six and finished off the innings in style. I think he holds the record for finishing the innings with the six. He was placid in reactions as if he socring 300 with 8 overs to spare was a walk in the park, never mind the team was Paksitan.

About: Favourites to win?
Many a favorites have already crashed out of the Euro champion football ships, Croatia the giant killers, Portugal the axe/chain saw stampers, Italy the reigning world champions, the Dutch looked good until they were clinically dismantled by Russians. There was sheer disbelief, I thought Dutch had a realistic chance but Russians made the break through chances and converted and Dutch were never really in the hunt after conceding two goals in 36minutes. Croatia going out to Turkey was sad.It would have been really awesome if they were to reach the semis perhaps not meant to be and a fairy tale ended soon, sooner than they would have like. I think all fairy tales don't end in "and they lived happily ever after." it is perhaps an ode to the Joga bonita, beautiful game.
Germany mean while are picking momentum and looking to be favourites to win the Euro Champion, Shcweinstiger is a man to mark, Klose always manages to pull the rabbit of the hat and Ballack seems to be determined to prove a point. They have build up momentum and will be hoping to cary it to the finish there is more to it though perhaps the last twist in the tale.Me looking forward to today/tonite match, first semi between Germany and Turkey.Me hooting for Germany, icch mien Berliner.Hope thats right.
Dhoni and Gang are back in the business of 50-50 with few minos and Lanka and Pakistan and hoping to prove their territorial might against Pakistan and Lanka. India looks to be favorite to win this one against Hong Kong. I don't wish to get into the details hope to see a great mauling by the Indians and prepare well against Lanka and Pakistan.India has posted 374 for 4. Raina Dhoni getting fifties, man in form got a good 44 mercurial Sehwag got off to a rocketing start manged 78.
I was net surfing and logged in to my iGoogle when I read this and this. I immediately saw myself smiling it was humour at its best.
Birthdays ...
I have seen/been part of some wild birthday celebrations, today two people namely my elder brother off to Britain for an assignment and *rolling his eyes* :P ... and Keshi too celebrates her b'day today.

Blog: Saturday and Mondays.
The most cumbersome task for any working professional/anyone is to get up on time or reach office on time on the Monday morning. Its nothing against home makers the madness of running around the trains, buses, cars and rickshaws is much more agonizing to answering phones and call-bells. Its not that there is no mad rush reaching on other days but lets just say that Monday Mornings a simply "different" . You see I hate getting late anywhere, I think its a crime to let anyone wait. The classic example I give would be a doctor getting late into an OT just by 2 minutes resulting in a loss of a dear life. So those who say what happens if I am two minutes late, then think about it.I dont mind reaching a place 5 to 10 minutes early. The key to reaching anywhere on time is to start early. A stitch in time save nine.
There is a mad rush to get lost from the office at the end of the work week and everyone runs as if there is no turning back. Monday morning is loathsome until u have that cup off coffee and brings back the focus to realities of life. The only way to find yourself is lose it all to what you do. The key being performing and doing so consistently perhaps against all odds. There should be no rhyme or reason to whine.
Mine was eventful weekend though. It was good to catch up with my visiting cousins. Aaryan who was suffering from flu last week was back to his cheerful best as he kept wobbling on two tiny feet, played his drums and enthralled all of the family with a blabbering rollicking laughter. Its a great site. He doesn't mind coming to me and its ridiculously funny to tickle him and hold him close. :)
I saw Sarkar Raaj yesterday.I thought this would take Abhishek to the next level butit wasnt to be. I think the movie had to match up with Sarkaar and I think the characters did not seem to be that shaper as they were in Sarkaar.I would slot it as not bad.I think review of Sarkaar Raaj eneds a seperate post. I hope I have determination to post one more blog this week. I want to over come the laziness of not blogging and determination to blog and blog with a new vigour. It would soon be three years of blogging for me. I think I will savour that. the only regret would be not have blogged enough.
Anyways its an old story that I tend to get up real early on Sunday morning, I may sleep at 2 AM and would frustratingly get up sometimes between 6:30 and 7 in the morning and then wait for hate morning newspapers to come in and fill the void of a Sunday.Anyways there wasn't a big void as my cousins have come over and so is my grandfather.Like an endearing encompassing grandfather and I have been talking a lot daily science and mythology. There is a deep interest at both sides to inquire and tell supported by curiosity and patience.
By the way parent would be out the during sometimes next week and some freaking out ideas are already begining to take root in my brains.
It was treat to see Russians edge out perhaps the favourites Holland. Last night another favourites Italy were edged out. I was sad to see Croatia edged out though. he did well, the scorline against Protugal wasnt fair. They could have score more goals. So its Germany Russia and Spain, I think in the semis with the fourth team yet to be finalist.I wonder if it is Turkey. Anyways Euro is aired way to late. I am not sure I am very inlined to see it though.
Second Edit.
This post is dedicated to Jane McGrath, she passed away yestrday. She is survived by her two children and husband Glenn McGrath. She had survived cancer once and went down fighthing.

Cricket: India lose to Pakistan.
I ran early from office, and kept running, not wanting to miss India Pakistan final of the Kitply club. The built up did not match the hype of the events in cricket which had preceded to this (tri-nation?) tournament. Yes Bangladesh also participated by helping the team to get into finals. There were some news reports saying Pakistan is not a major worry but complacency is the bigger factor.
How can there be complacency against Pakistan ever?Alright the sting between matches is missing. The days are gone when we hardly faced each other on the cricket field. The days are gone and hysteria is almost as dead as waves in a low tide. Also gone are the visual controversies. The expression has gone from (You know India is playing Pakistan today) !!! to a (Is India playing Paksitan today?).The city of Mumabi would come to the grinding halt, pubs were packed and filled with cacophony of frenzy of cricketing fans. But the fact is it is the mother of all sporting rivalries.
It happened when ...
I don't remember what time I reached home.I just remember the score, it was 180 for one Younis Khan and Salman Butt approaching 100s. I was convinced then and there that Paksitan would be all over India. That would be the final score. I did not had a sceptic nerve in me saying India "may" win. Pakistani's capitalized with wickets in hand in the death overs. The only good thing to see was controlling wides and no-balls. I can just dream Indian bowlers bowling like the Paksitani do in the death, giving nothing away. But then cricket is always about hard ground realities. Misbah back from very ordinary IPL came back to haunt again as he will for all future India Pakistan clashes. He creamed them all over with Pakistan hammering India and piling 323.
I told you so ...
The Indian top order collapse. The agonizing if-he-would-have Sehwag gone early. It was the first hammer in the coffin. One of the last was when (Irfan) Pathan looking wayward hit only five in nine balls and then getting out cheaply, leaving Dhoni high and dry. Yuvraj who looks in total command in "50-50" batted well so did Gautam Gambhir, who is directing the pressure of expectations to scoring runs. Yusuf Pathan is still to fire. Dhoni may have got couple of calls wrong, but being blunt is so cool about him. He doesn't always plays to the galley and calls a fool a damn fool.
The Indian charge never came or came too late. Pakistan now hosts India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh in Asia cup although I am looking forward to champions trophy.
I felt a deserved Saturday evening was a dampener. So I think was the weekend.
Monday morning is blue as usual, although I started lated I just managed to reach office in time.

About: Monsoon collection.
A lot of water has flown under the bridge and lot more over it.
IPL is done,Old man Warne has won,
Pakistan looked distraught,
Dhoni is right on top.
I got was gifted a Calvin Klein perfume by my Bhabhi for my b'day so that was cool. The great sense of lethargy and not wanting to blog the boredom of not wanting to blog is very encompassing. Imagine my dismay that I dont wish to blog about a review of India Pakistan match, IPL final, which was one of the most intriguing matches. Warne ended on top, but me being a huge Dhoni fan, he did really really well publicly acknowledging that the team lost not beacuse of only fielding. England keep winning against New Zealand.
Now the collection.
I was sitting in front of the telly, sipping my ale, cold coffee, in a tall jar,I was told, that I had a ordinary ensemble of clothes. I do agree with it, but then I had just got a black and a khaki coloured trousers.I just recalling what I imagined and the rains after that I though, buying three fourths or cutting my old black jeans by one fourths. I want to buy a stripe cotton shirt. I am searching for that, mean while a red colour shirt/kurta remains ever elusive.I Titan watch is also on a will buy list, so is the new 3G iPhone. :D
A v-neck full selves white coloured t- shirt is also their in my mind, but something definitely not there is grey trousers with brown shoes.I already have floaters so one thing that doesn't list in must-haves for the monsoons.
Rain,floods,muck and BMC.
In India monsoon is analogous for rains b'coz it rains only for a few months in an year. The only issue is that its only rains that seems to be the only thing happening during those two and half to three months.Every Mumbai citizen have given up hope that it will rain and streets will not get bloody flooded. Especially the approach roads to any/all local railway stations seem to start getting flooded as soon as dark murky clouds begin to gather.
Check this out.
A long time back I did "In & Out" before summers started check out the in and out for the Monsoons
