About : Eternal Songs.

There are some Hindi songs which I can hear till eternity. I feel there is something very soothing about these songs. They tend to convey many emotions all in one musical note. I am fond of radio, Surat does not have much of private radio service *sob sob* and this place has potential to make it into a commercial success. Whenever I get a chance to go to Mumbai I make sure that I hear atleast to four hours of radio, by the way irrespective of whats the time the radio set is practically on. The 24 hours service is a great help and I truly believe the private radio in Mumbai make living in a city a bit easier.
The following list of songs is as follows,
Raat ke hamsafar: sung by Asha and Rafi for the movie An Evening in Paris starring Sharmila and Shammi.
Main zindagi ka saath: sung by Rafi for the movie Hum Dono starring Dev Anand.
Ajeeb dastan hai yeh: sung by Lata* movie (fill in the blanks) featuring Meena Kumari and Rajkumar.
Saagar jaisi aankhowali: sung by Kishore for the movie Saagar starring Dimple, Rishi, Kamaal Hassan
Mere meheboob qayamat: sung by Kishore for himself in Mr. X in Bombay.
Ek ladki bheegi: sung by Kishore for Chalti ka Naam Gaadi featuring Himself and Madhubaala.
Aayega Aanewala: sung by Lata for the movie Mahal. Ashok Kumar was the “hero” of the movie.
Aasmaan ke neeche: sung by Lata and Kishore for Jewel Thief starring Dev Anand and Vyjanthimala.
Dard-e-dil: sung by Rafi for the movie Karz starring Rishi Kapoor.
Jab koi baat: sung by Kumar Sanu and Sadhna Sargam for the movie Jurm featuring Vinod Khanna and Meenakshi Sheshadri.
Ae dil-e nadan: sung by Lata for the the movie Razia Sultana starring Dharmendra and Hema.
Then there are a few ghazals sung by Asha, Jagjit Singh and Pankaj Udhas which I would love to hear very late into the night.
*Correted to Lata as mentioned by Sakshi on this blog's comments

Thats one interesting list.
I can hear any Kishore Kumar song forever.
Couple of more songs that will belong to my list: "Janeman Janeman" by Asha Bhosale and Yesudas(Choti-si-Baat); "Dekho Maine Dekha" by Amit Kumar and Lata Mangeshkar (Love Story).
Btw, awesome movies, both of them.

Ajeeb Dastan is from
"Dil Apna aur preet paraye".

Sakshi said...

And that song is sung by LATA not Asha.

Tarun said...

@ Globguru:Yes the list is so along that it is normal to skip a few very good songs.
@ Mon: No worries Mon.Take Care.
@ Sakshi:I was in doubt of thename of the movie. There is always a debate between me and my dad as to whose song this song.I think it is Asha ...

Sakshi said...

Nope.. It is Lata. It was a nice B/W movie. A Meenakumari showcase.
