Cricket: WC of wrong reasons

My last post could not been posted coz of poor 'Net connection. But things look a bit better for good and for bad.

Off the filed controvery.

When sport, any sport is in the headlines for non sporting reason there is something out of place. Bob Woolmer was killed, I sensed foul play the instant I heard it. It is so sad. The betting and fixing syndicate is responsible as they say but the plot is wide and thick and things are not what it seems to be. It is a sorry state.

Lossers have anew name.

The Team India / Men in Blue/ God knows what else, bowed out to quick too soon. The Indian team is quiet not what if use to be or what it could be. The team looks brilliant on the paper, but then cricket is not played on paper. The bowling lacked the sting and batting tits (e)steem. It was sorry to see. I dont know what happens next but then Tendulkar bowed out for zero. I have always considered Tendulkar is the greatest run scorer but not the greatest run getter. I dont know the reason for this, he has always made runs never won "enough" matches, the proof is the fact India has not seen enough contribtuions from him especially in Test and in matches we have won. It is disconcerting.

Possible reasons of ouster.

It is just a hypothesis and we never know the exact reason coz such is the nature India Cricket. I think possible reason is some kind of weird psychosis going on were too much is expect in the wrong manner. The psyche seems too be dented and the whole team gets heavy footed for wrong reason.Give up the agony guys put up a fight. I mean fight it out to the best u can do.

I feel the agony has ended coz India would be minnowed under very very mentally tough teams in cricket. Did u saw Aussies cracking SAfs? The world Cup deserves to be with Aussies coz u got be great to snatch it from them. They and only they show how to play cricket. scoring forties and bowling in 125 kmph will take you only one way, out of the world cup. There is a crisis which can be sorted out provided right people are given right responsibilities. RD is a good captain but better selection and better belief and urge to fight on can get one better result provided we stick through people. I think there is complete overhauling necessary, which includes over hauling pitches even at the most localest of place.
The suggestion from my end would play on uncovered pitches coz thats something bowlers need to learn their trait on. The money is no issue coz India Board is one of the richest sports governing body. How is the cricket administration is run is a wonder in itself. The stellar performances at home combines with extra odrinary hype has what got the biggest jolt. The batsmen will need to grind in and spin talent would develop though.
It is the right time to go back to the drawing board. It is a test of an honest and peaceful Team India Fan. Guys just do it, we are there with you. :)

Realty checque for all.

Cricket Admins, Cricketers fans and meida has got the biggest jolts in the recent history. There is no questions that things are not well, but can someone and stand up and take responsibility of having something wrong and say we will set it right. I think they not as physically fit and mental fitness stand at dismal level. The game (as the world) has got more demanding both mentally and physically.
I mean at times one should talk to near one (this is for all not only cricketers) coz sometimes out of anxiety and incorrect perception we park into dilemma when the solutions could be very simple to understand. Those solutions could be tough to apply, but the bad things is they are the only solutions. One has to grind oneself.

Silver cloud and black lining.

India and Pakis ouster means super right has been reduced to super six. The way Hayden played means Aussies are in a firm position to retain the WC which seemed highly unlikely but then who knows. It is the game of glorious uncertainities. I personally want someone else to win just for the sake of change. I think NZ are worth challengers hope Bond bowls them through.

I want to blog and blog coz these days I miss blogging

Cricket: Cricket Calypso style.

I announce the World Cup open said the greatest cricketers alive, Sir Garfield Sobers. He was the top (not one of the top, TOP) run getter and wicket tacker when he hung up his boots. He could do anything with the ball of bat.

Me and Nagu on Gtalk.

No self praise here it was just a guess while me and Nagraj were on G-Talk he asked me what would WI score is said 240 would be good. They ended up scoring 241. Thanks havens. Anyways it is a good score. WI bowling would be tested here.

Review.

Wind punched out of Gayle.

Umar Gul. Man Pak is a mine of Fast Bowler. Gayle seems to be exposed with the bowl curving away. Agarkar cropped him last time around in the pratice match Gul did it in this Calypso cricket opener. One down; WI. Pakis draw first blood.

Number One but not quiet there.

I am weary of Sarwan he always give chances to bowlers and must learn to control his naïve shot selection. He is too good perhaps the future captain but he needs to be better. He made a fluent 49 and got out to a dismissal which he would not like to see on replay. He is such a fluent, touch player and to get out in such ordinary way make u feel like plucking his hair out.

Samuels fixes the collapse.

Marlon Samuels may be feeling the pinch here. He is under scanner for not being a good boy. He came good though and helped Lara with repairs of WI innings and made a well compiled 50. he and Lara got out at wrong time. If they would be there then certainly Nagraj would have won the bet. 

Tail wags.

WI has one of the best late orders. The tail wags. They did well and Dwayne Smith made a quick fire 30. A little more caution and 250 would be a winning score. WI bowling feels weird. I hope they come good.

Look whos blogging

Me takes oppourtunity to welcome back Invincible after real long time.Welcome back pal blogosphere seems a bit better with u around.

Bottom-line.

Inzi would be looking on to get a head start। I think Pakis may win this unless something terrible goes wrong. WI bowlers have their work cut out. I hope they keep fielding a notch above the best if they want to hunt Pakis down.

Blog: What goes round …

The times change, before you realize one round of change has take place, the word seem to have gone multiple round of changes, it is so subtle. It is call a “quasi-static” process. One cannot leave out thermodynamics. I for some reason keep relating things to one another. I love making analogies, I don’t know if it makes any difference, only thing I notice is “come on get on with it.” e.g. electrical system and mechanical defect of surge in compressors cannot have any relation but then it is analogy which I used to understand what happens when a feeder of a power plant goes down and excitation system of a power plant comes to the rescue of the generator. I don’t know what the world makes of analogies but I love them.

Office Office …

I have shifted to a new office; well first I was in site office now the workshop acts as a makeshift office till the control room has come up. It is kind off fun brainstorm about weird things till some experienced guy comes in and says what the hell, why not this. It is like building a big database on your top floor. What I always want to learn is what not to do! The life is all about weird ambivalences and things help if you know what is not to be done.
The perks of new offices are a super cool Cannon printer, a 5 MP Lumix camera to keep clicking what’s happening, separate table and chair along with the a phone landline phone. The desktop doesn’t have a net connection so if u don’t get comments or post out of here then wait till the weekend. The phone is not quiet connected to the port so nothing is ringing. The ACs are cool though. There is documentation done in two places now, as if confusion of documentation was missing double the place treble the confusion. It is weird it takes days to clear the whole thing i.e. compiling, filing, distributing, recollecting, assigning, and placing the documents as soon as you clear it up there is another bulk of it. There are three hard copies of reports, drawings; notes or vendors ads add some type of notifications and regulations in this heap. The only advantage is you are the first one to actually know what’s happening and keeping the track of it is simply a nightmare.
Bosses give a call and just dictate a few letter number and just says please do the needful ASAP.
Anyways first few weeks were like don’t know what but know you exactly what notes you need to hit the keyboard and then its fun. Let me talks of some reports. If u can try imagining a carton of say 2 by 3 containing reports on which only couple of letters and a few numbers are written it and three to four sets. I wonder, how life would be if there was Shift+Delete for real? Then there are drawings technical ones piping and instrumentation diagrams, P&ID for short or a technical report of still best technical drawing come of them could be as large a single bed sheet or a table cover. They seem so real One could imagine how the thing would look like if one know what’s he/she is looking at. Then there are specifications lots of specifications piping codes material codes, welding codes all that for one segment of a pipe called a flange which belongs to some pipe which drains out condensate of a by-pass piping running behind the module number 5 of header number 4 which goes through the super heater before emptying in out before the reheater spray in the economizer below the silencer number 29. You did well if u could get a hang of it, if u did not then you would be standing really close behind the person who wrote all this.
It is not complicated at all, just follow the diagram and one must stand firm on some funda. If you know all that one could sleep walk to the desired location never mind if it is 35 m of the sea level or a cooling tower from which the heaves feel a bit closer. I was up on a cooling tower and I said the world looks breath taking from here. My friends who climbed up the NDCT, (it is the same structure it is a scientific misnomer for Cooling tower.) and told me the scene from top of there is breath taking, I simply took their word from it.
The new boss is amazing very technical very correct very experienced. Then there is my team leader who seems to be a man of hurry and he is too a gem of a person. If I make an impression on these people it would be worth my salt. I have been told to read everything I can lay my hands on related to earthing which has bought me back to earth. I have also to explain the boiler feed pump which is the heart of the whole power plant business already I have done with couple of presentation this one is one I am looking forward too.

Women’s Day.

Me and women/woman or whatever. I always had a “limited” company of woman and it wasn’t the most happening things to be. I always have carried the notion that women have amzing hand writing great soft hands and weird sense of humour. I gave up the though very early in my early teens that woman can be understood. They idea to exchange so many Blog links was perhaps an attempt to understand at least what they right but then exchange rate of info is not the greatest. I don’t think mankind has ever really understood women; ever. They have tried but then we have not really begun as off date. The fault could be exclusively ours but then reasons of how things are what they are need to be explained. In the world where one needs to offer explanation for every breath one draws, being tacit is not an option applicable. It amazes and surprises me anyways good or bad, right or wrong is never understood. It seems in this case the garden on own’s side looks green. Let me just say if being a woman in a man’s world is not easy then being a man in men’s world is not the easiest. We may have some odd “privileges” but they too come at a cost, simply because nothings come for free.
I hope some woman bloggers have some idea to know what they wish to do. I hope they have some discrete ideas and do something concrete and meaningful. Blog this I think me has been planning do to something related to cry but nothing as off yet. I will I know someday.
My mother had a good women’s day. She was damn happy, my father for first time took her to his office and showed her the whole plant. She was damn happy and she narrated it and I imagine she really enjoyed the detour. Not much off Women’s day in office, coz there are not many around and more over me has shifted from the main office so not much to write about.

WC and this blog?

Well for one the WC matches would be around weekend so would be blogging at least India’s matches. I am living alone only at weekends do I come home on late Saturdays nights. May be I will have to come home just to watch the match and write some blog. Let’s see. They say you have to give up all u can sense so that you really find the inner you. The thought of giving up cricket is very very crazy. I know I have never touched the cricket bat and faced a ball in ages but I don’t ever wish to get cricket off my mind I love the game.

Sunday mornings and Tequila Sunrise.

I did not have tequila for starters it’s just the song Tequila Sunrise by Eagles that played all day on my terminal along with Hotel California. I will download some track featuring Shakira and Nelly Futartdo. The obviously there were songs by Bryan Adams I have never had enough of him and can listen to him for hours to no end provided cricket is not being telecasted.

India’s Chances.

Well not much  Semi finals and that’s it. I am vouching for NZ and SA followed by SL. There is a belief though there has to be some surprise. The fans would consider Aussies bowing out in Semis as a surprise but they are definitely a team to beat and it would be a pass if they win it. I think the time is right to have new champions I just don’t know who it will be coz what goes round comes around.

About: WC 2007

Yes it is about to get under way, a week or so remains, the chase begin soon and will take a long winding route to end in the hands of people who bend out last.

The Cricket world cup is about to get under way in the land of Calypso. The media (read news channels) in India is trying really hard to flog a dead horse into life but the dead horse will spring to life if and only if India has a rollicking start to the World Cup. Me wanting to be honest wont rate India's chances too high even though the World Cup could be anybody's game. The bowling is the key, as it was in Champions trophy, I don't think Indians have the bowling quiet there to take the honours.

This blog and WC 2007.

I love blogging cricket. well as the Mega event gets under way, I don't want to wish that it turns out to be like Champions trophy. I would not even label it as a drag it was so awful. I will be shifting to a new office. It is a make shift arrangement in a mechanical workshop but the best part is ones own desk add a pc ;)

The idea of this blog is how the game of cricket and my point of view on lifes run parrallel to each other. My Nana, (Grandfather, mother's father) had a funda on siblings, he often said to me the behaviour of siblings was often 360/n where "n" is number of siblings, as the number goes on decreasing the behaviour seems far apart. The same is so true for me and my elder brother. Anyways ... the point being I am looking forward for some good performances and I am sure there would be many as for some it would their first WC and for some their last. There are al sorts of players. the players profiled here would be form Top 6 test playing nations. If one does not find players from lower ranked teams the reason is simple, I have not much to write about them.

This blog will take you up and down and try to find things which would be left unsaid/unclaimed.

I hope I find time in my busy schedule ;p.

What will you read?

Updates lots of them, first second and third edits. Player profiles, number crunching, notions, views and reviews. I want to really blog on this WC 2007. I also want to profile the players I will be watching and see what tricks they have up their sleeves. It is a littile sad that Bret lee and Abdur Razzaq are out due to injury coz me would have love them performing. I may not watch all the games but then net will help me track down whats actually happening. Rediff and cricinfo will be there so will be the WC bloggers and the news channels :/

The list of players who I would be profiling is long so I have planned to write in certain brackets and may be see how things unroll. I would first start profiling the captains and then there would be a series of openers, middle order batsmen, all rounders, bowlers, the key poisiton the number ones. and may be the umpires too.
lets get things unroll ...

The Captains.

The captins are as follows.

  1. Rahul Dravid
  2. Ricky Ponting
  3. Mahela Jaywardene
  4. Inzamam Ul Haq
  5. Stephen Fleming
  6. Greame Smith
  7. Michael Vaughan
  8. Brian Lara

I am staring with the Indian team captain.

Rahul Dravid

He was dubbed at the start of his career as a Test Only" stuff has completed 10 K runs in ODI, very dependable and his form and consistency is the only bankable think India have right now. He knows what he is doing, adapts well, good person and a good student of the game.

He is the Wall, top batsmen in the world in terms of value of his wicket and consitency over the period of last 5 years. India's form will flactuates depeending up deman and supply of Dravids batting. He has walked out of Tendulkar's shadow. One is expecting grit from Dravid.

Ricky Ponting.

He has nightmare playing spinners in India rest of things he is supreme as good if not better than Dravid leads an all demolishing side, which looks demolished for the moment. He is all about scoring runs big time. He has full reptoire of strokes and play quicks very quickly . He is a brilliant fielder perhaps I will make a checklist of fielders as well.

He is known as the punter, has had boughts and fights but mellowed down. If you dont get him early then you may not find him in your grasp well. He is in pink of form and looks dangerous at any given point in time.Keep a close watch. The World CUp is currently in his position but may not be too long before he has to give it up.

Mahela Jayawardene.

He is all about silken touch. He is a lovely touch player. He is leading a young side often the cause of his own dismissal. He is leading the Lankans in the right direction. He is currently short on form and match practice. India be ware he plays spinners well. He may have hopes from Lankans but runs have dried up for him, he is over exxaggerating with Sangakarra too much, He needs a cushion of a very steady and reliable middle order.

Inzamam-Ul-Haq.

Bovine. He has a no no sense approach can do anything with the bat, big burly powerful one of the mebers of 10 K club needs to find his own. The Paki bowlers are missing. Pakis may bow out early cos lack of know talent is missing but wont be suprise if an unkown Pak bowlers steam rolls a quality batting line like India in couple of spells.

He hits them they stay hit. He can clear boundaries easily, quality spin player attacking batsmen. he would want to better his international record. He has an amazing middle order to rely on. Go for it Inzy :)

Stephen Fleming.

Good looks solid batsmen very very reliable. I have lost count for the years he has been a Kiwi captain but definetly doing well. He too like Jayawardene is a touch player. He will be best remembered for when he belted the Proteas all over in last world cup and kiwis cruised home. he is a shear delight to watch . He takes time getting into full mode but can keep things together.
he has the services of a real good fast bowler(Shane Bond), a genuine dashing batsmen in form(Craig MacMillan), a very clinical finisher(McCullum) and a very good spinner (Vettori). He is likely to be the fore runner of holding that Cup when the frenzy ends.

Greame Smith.

Huge is the word that comes to mind. Awesome talent. He can pund anything to submission. He needs to control himself and perform with a bettr consistent. He can explode and chief architect of Proteas turn around in last couple of seasons. He leads a side of mavericks (Gibbs). the foucused (Pollock) and Kallis. He has to perform above his limits if SA needs to be Champs. He is robust and can take on the heat will the lady luck smiles, let wait and watch.

Micheal Vaughan.

I am not sure if he is leading the side coz England has been in dumps forever especially in ODI stuff. He is perhaps the most inexperienced of the lot. He has played only 77 matches. He is leading Flintoff and Pietersen, Monty and Anderson. He is not likely to go much a Caribbean cruise may be a good idea or should I wait till its all over.

Brian Lara.

The whole write up can and rot in a dump or burn this blog up in flames soft spoken crack pot can do anything he wants to on the cricket field. He is singley responsible for SA outster in 96 and 2003. Lara can play anybody anyway anywhere. There are batsmen and there is a Lara. He his the host captain and would love to brak the jinx of host not winning the World Cup.
He leads a weird batting lin eup which has a very good tail, a tail that wags. He too needs lady luck by his side.Is west Indies playing SA ;)?

About: Holi.

Yeah Holi is here, so will be the summers in a next week days. I love holi, lots of vigour and masti. In my "younger" days, (LOL) I mean as a little kid me would look forward to holi. When u land up in an office, things often dont work the way you want especially if one is away from friends ... anyways we is not hurt or something, just nostalgia ...

I m gearing up for this holi, try to change a few things as being not always running life and sometimes walking in sync with life not worrying about things which are weird thoughts at times. But then world is a net of weird thoughts and misunderstood emotions and that thing called love which often confuses and definitely amuses.

I see life as a festival of colours, just dont point out the colours on this blog's template, black and white too are colours of life, they is always more to know, more to share and more to tell, to hear more or read more forget what you are things and splash some colours coz it isHOLI ....
