Cricket: Grind in; Grind Out.

Summers on so is the cricket so are the centuries as relatively "good" teams are faring exceedinlgly well againsts two teams out which one conquered it all in it's hey days and one is still finding means to justify their Test cricket ticket. I wonder if cricket administrator's are looking at West Indies and how they have been faring in tests. I mean even Lara could not inspire them. There is something lacking in West Indies cricket, the calypso is missing and it is missing for sometime now the worst part perhaps is that I fear the West Indies will soon be a part of cricketing folklore.
Anyways coming to the present.

India is grinding in.

They bowed out to Bangladesh in WC, now they are making Bangladesh count into numbers, atleast for now it is 4 centuries by Indian top order.I think to no one's suprise only Ganguly missed out, I know those top order batsmen scroed century against "just B angladesh" but Ganguly failed to get going poor him. Tendulkar slowly made a sloth of a century but atleast he would have proved himself of match fintess their are tough times ahead as they head to England and then Down under and play 4 tests needless to say Tendulkar cruciality is tacit. He bats well India looks good. Atleast for now there isn't much beyond Dravid openers may be but Dravid is the only when if you are seeking some quality.

India bowlers did well to get Bangladesh packing in first innings and enforcing follow on. Ashraful is belting them all over as I blog this but then it is a race against time. I think fitness is the issue here.

Back to Tendulkar.

he is such a paramanount in this lone up he fails we know the results. he was meanwhile being peppered with short stuff and found wanting bowlers in England, Harmisson and Co and Aussies, Brett Lee and Co would be licking thier lips to see Tendulkar bat.He seems to be searching something one cannot understnad. The body language and the lucidity is missing and missing is the fun too. I wonder if can back track it all and begin again, batting and scroing runs fighting fire with fire returning barrage with full gusto.

West Indies being ground out.

Hapless is the word comes to mind if u see the West Indies.I think fitness is the issue here as well. I can't imagine West Indies are the most fit side in the world. They seemed lack luster. They must understnad that destiny is dictator's authoruity to commit crime and fool's excuse for failure. They have been knocked over in the first innings for 146. They are looking at the wrong end of a cannon barrell. They will loose if this test sees full 5 days of cricket.
Pietersen scored a double century and crossed the threshold of 158, he has been out at 3 different times at this very score. There were other centuries earlier this week too. I ave lost count. Matthew prior the new English keeper started with a century so did Collingwood and Cook and Vaughan. The top drawer bastmen are making hay while the sun is shining bright and the bowling order is is looking really ordinary.

Blog: A tag.

The summer heat is on so is the tag season there are tag all over the place.I wish people could take tags more seriously, interms of accepting them and posting them honestly.

"How honest are u as a blogger by the way?"

Well I may not blog anything, my reasons of blogging often revolves around cricket, but I wish to blog more about politics (I love 'em) and social trends (no fashion and celebs please), more like Freakonomics kind of a thing. But that damn laziness ...

Anyways Anshul tagged me for "Most Watched Movies"

DDLJ.

Come fall in love I can watch t over and over again। I have understood the movie in the first go itself. My idea of romance is in sync with SRK and Kajol's Europe trip. It has everything a complete "family" movie. It is an earnest belief of mine that a good movie has excellent support cast. You can look east of west across ages the best movies always have had great perfromances by support casts be it a Mughal-E-Azam, an Anand a DDLJ, a Munnabhai or any English movie.
SRK plays the eternal Raj and Kajol plays Simran in the leads. They are ably spported by Amrish Puri (Baldev Singh), Farida Jala as Lajjo, Anupam Kher sipping beer at time and at times enjoying Lassi. Mandira "Noodle Strap" Bedi (for once not in the noddle strap) Staish Shah among a few.

"जा सीमरण जी ले आपनी जीदंगी"

An Evening in Paris.

No hero has been more CHarming and stylish then Shammi Kapoor. Did u know he has never choreographed and use to do his own jig? I have loved all his movies but then this one is special. Sharmila Tagor excedues some Bohemian hip. Pran looking every bit villanous and funky in dyed hair. Then there was a Shetty, nothing to do with Sunil Shetty. If fteqaar and Tilak r\Raj hold Guiness Records for most roles as Police Commisioner and Police inspector then Sheety hold it for being the Villain's right hand.

Satte Pe Satta.

The original copy perhaps. The first half typfies life in a boys hostel. It is damn hillarious. Hema Malini slaps Big B with some ferocity and Big B comes in latter in a tailored soot and perhaps wins the lady over with one of the more meorable KK-Big B combo song. Dilbaar mera kb taak ...
He looked in some style. The review can go on but then there is double role for Big B. He returns as Babu and falls in love with Rangeeta's character whose has a big crush on Big B orginal character.
This one would have been a musical hit as well, no price for guessing RD did the music. It has one song for the "Bacelor's" as well great song great picturizations as well, "प्यांर हमे कीस"

Jaane Bhi Do Yarron.

It was a flop in its time but stars perhaps the best acptrs belonging to the "Parrallel" cinema movement. This one was a flop in its time but I have know a guy who hasn't watched this movie. The climax is one which will freak you out. It is statire at its hyseteriacl best. Om Puri, Pankaj Kapoor, Nasset, Satish Shah Neena Gupta and all the other make it an awesome treat to watch.

Executive Decision.

American Masala movies, A group of Islamic Terrorist hijack a plane, a group of US commandoes get into the plane and the plot thickens and in the end Kurt Russels sweeps Halle Berry off her feet for a coffe aster the villians are slain and passengers are rescued.

School of Rock.

I think my mom loves it more than me but I have seen it couple of times and don't mind seeing it again. Jack Black a loser musicians sneaks into a school as a music teacher and then grroms his class as Rock starts. Do see it. great treat to watch.

Baby's Day out.

Boo Boo. it is perhaps the best comedy I have seen, and dont mind it seeing again. the baby's featuring in the movie were twins.Greatly done.

Gladiator.

"Are you not entertained, Are you not entertained?" shouts Russel Crows shouts dressed as a Gladiator. A tragedy which would have made the greeks applaud. It is an action flick. The fights are awesome. The cinematogrpahy was amzing have seen it many a times. I always look forward to it.

"I am Commander of the Armies of the North, General of the Felix Legions, loyal servant to the true emperor, Marcus Aurelius. Father to a murdered son, husband to a murdered wife and I will have my vengenace in this life or the next"

T2

Anir dont ask me to type your surname and was the man play the machine. It's also another tragedy the Terminator gets Terminated. The movie was made agesg ago, I mean 15 years yet James Cameron directed a movie loaded with FXs and did a bloddy good job.

Saadhu aur Shaitaan.

It features the best comedians ever to make a cut on Hindi movie scene. It is amazingly hillarious do check out KK getting spooked by a dead body in a taxi amazingly cool.It is perhaps the most difficult role pran played.

There are more but then there is always a second edit.

Cricket: Series Win?

India won a series "abroad"..It exactlly wasn't an overseas victory, was it? Do neighbouring countries count as "abroad" not quite. Indians winning in Pakistan is huge coz they have hardly won anything away from home anywhere.

Why am I not too thrilled?

If someone deceives me once shame on him;if someone deceives me twice shame on me. How does Dhoni playing at number three help Indian cause? Are we sure he is good enough to play number three for India in both form of the game for next 4 years or so. Don't ponder much the answer is "No"

They have experimented before with the number three lot, two casualties are already there by the names of Pathan and Kaif. I think Kaif deserves a bit better but we dont have any selectors from UP. I hope he pays a courtesy call to Maya Mem'saab soon. I mean of all Dravid, has to be number three and if we look to groom someone Yuvraj has to bat number three. Yuvraj has all the strokes in the book. Alright he may continue to struggle a bit against quality spinners. Dhoni may have got runs but people have to release that top three batting positions are exclusive spots. Dhoni will be sourly missed and Dinesh Karthick is doing well but I dont think he should be there, there is a scope of a better batsmen. I mean specialists spot.I had mixed feeling about Pathan and Tendulkar being dumped out of ODI. It was good for Tendulkar he would have wasted his time there.

Tendulkar lack of fitness coupled with his poor batting form reminds me of one dialogue from "Gladiator", "His time will come."

I personally restricted myself to following cricket on my mobile phone. But what I saw of Piyush Chawla impressed to say the least. I think they should have persisted with him and asked to him to stay back and play the Tests under Kumble's tutelage so that he learns something from an under rated champion.

Cometh the hour, will Tendulkar cometh?

Will Tendulkar come out of his own woefully form and fitness issue. It doesn't concern me how many he scores, it is the manner in which he scores will tell me the complete story. I hope he found time for himself after world cup and had a good unwind and may be consult a few people who know Tendulkar as Sachin and not as a master class batsmen. He plays and cricket looks great. He has to set it right and make a platform for a big tour to England. I hope he and Laxman does well along with Ganguly but I am a little sceptic on Bagladesh bowling. I am sceptic coz I dont imagine they sustaining the pressure for long enough to see India slipping into trouble. I hope they do, but cant see that happening.

It would be great if Bangladesh win a test. No jokes here. I hope Indians not only go out there to win but also to prove the witness and take a grip of situation. It is a weird Test series for India coz I dont think Indians will have to stretch themselves a lot "If" they play as well as they can.I am eager in strange way for this series to start.

I am itching to blog and I feel like blogging all the while or posting aleast half a dozen post all at once. The tagging seasons along and there are a few tags waiting to be dished out.

About: रात की बात|

The following are some of the songs which one would love to listen on radio all night, day and night. The list is a random list of personal favourites ranging through the times across the singers whose voice makes the stars glow brighter as night reigns in the dreams of tomorrows and let the times just float by.

1. रात के हमसफ़र: An old time Asha Rafi track picturised on a charming Shammi Kapoor whom I consider one of the most handsome hero to have ever dawn on Hindi film cinema along him was Sharmila Tagore sultry and all that style and persona along with all that goes with being Bohemian.Classic song. The singers Asha well can anyone be blessed with that spectrum off voice.Rafi his disciplined almost ruled the 60s all by himself when Raj Kapoor-Dilip Kumar and Dev Anand were all over the place churning out magnum opus and drama.Shammi starred in what were the criminal murder mystery thrillers along with the side kick Rajendernath. The songs which he appeared in are being still remixed till date. The great Pancham signing tunes of his geniuses.
A movie to thrill go watch "An evening in Paris" for any reason you like.

2. आधा है चन्द्रमा रात आधी: Another classic song from yesteryears. This one is from the movie "Navrang" Just follow it to read m ore about the film and some of the songs in the movie. It was typical of movies to have great numbers. It was the notion at that time that sadder the movie the more it ruled the box office. It was also an age (it seems distant now) when music soothed heart lyrics charmed the minds.

3. रात कली एक ख़्वाब : A signature Kishore song, teasing and filrting. A movie featuring Navin Nischol and dont remember the heorin, i hope it was Jaya but dont remember exactly. बुद्ध मील गया।

4. येह रात यह चान्दिनी है फिर कहॉ: The Hemant Kumar I hope some of you have heard to inform me on whom it was picturised and what was the मूवी.

5. रात अकेली है : The movie is "Jewel Thief" picturised on an ever Dev Anand and the original vivacious, Tanuja, consider to be the better of the sibblings to loose out. The song in which Tanuja's character has this big crush over a guy selling jewellery stones (played by Dev Anand). She plans to seduce her crush but never comes close as he is already in charms of Vyjanthimala's character. The plot only thickens giving many an immortal songs. One of those include a personal favourites, "आसमाँ के नीचे" picturised on Dev Anand and Vyjanthi but this one does not fit the theme of this post.

6. ढलती जाये रात: Another Asha and Rafi duet. The movie is Razia Sultan the one released way back in 1961. The new one featured Hema Malini and naram Dharam. The new one features an all time Lata classic ऐ दील ए नादान|

7. आज कि रात: This track ought to be in the minds. The movie is Don the one in which SRK starred. It also had Priyanka and Isha dancing on Shankar Ehsaan Loy theme. It is a rave song that get you going. It has been sung by Alisha, Mahalaxmi and Sonu.

8. Lets make a night to remember. A Bryan Adams track. One can go about singing to one love. I got never ever tired of listening to this song. A list cannot be complete with the masters words.Hail Bryan.

9. फीर छिद्ही रात,रात फूलों की : This one is from the movie बज़ार. The song is sung by a hunk, Talat Aziz and the nightingale herself Lata. I डॉन't think I have seen movie. It is from "Parallel Cinema". The cast is impressive see it for yourself if you wish to.

There are million song on रात, चांद, हुस्न, इश्क, गुम and मजबूर . I always loved the song describing thenight. There may be a million of track ever song having the word raat but could had just these numbers in my mind when I sat and wrote this post.

Blog: Passing week and traffic.

The WC is over. The Aussie won, what a surprise was that. Anyways I was away to Nagpur for couple of days, there was suppose to be a felicitation but I could not make it.I hope I will be able to see my degree one day in my own two hands.I will wait. I then decided to meet a few people. I met her.... I mean *Her*. It has been an age, 16 months can u believe that? I don't! Anyways Nagpur was hot damn hot and well above 45 degree Celcius. It was damn tiring. But then agony of weather wilted under meeting people. I hope I could meet a few more people there was a long list but then there are plans and there is reality. These don't often share the same photo frame. I was great fun meeting everybody I met. I think many of u know her and some of you don't. She knows some of you and while some of them she is ignorant about some of you.Thats the way life is. I wonder if there is one day where I would be with all my friends I have ever know.It wont happen people are spread too far and wide across the country and I think perhaps the whole globe.

I stayed at this friends place. It was fun living all the old moments. We spent last year of engineering laughing it was fun especially if you look back now. God know when will I learn to not look back at times that have gone back but just a glimpse back at the shoulder sometimes such good times to life.It is so tough to let go of the past. I hope I learn it soon coz you cant grasp future if you have your hands full with the past the only thing you will is get disappointment. It is always tough for me to give 100% of me into everything to what I do. I guess that you got to give it all with dreaming of desired returns, if one starts dreaming of results then one ceases to give 100%. He who ceases to be better ceases to be good. One brick at a time will. But every time.

I don't know but relationships is something I don't discuss much. I thought of it as always a stronger forms of friendship but I slowly realizing it is not only about friendship. I have had good friends some stick some part ways but then you can always catch up with people if time permits. I was wary of relationship I am perhaps still but then gradually all thing do sink in to the realm of understanding provided you are ready to fathom of it. It is something I have not discussed on my blog. I don't understand the whole funda of it. But I have tried explaining it to some of the bloggers. The internet give great anonymity and people listen to you without inhibitions not always without the perceptions though. There is everyone wants attention so if people listen (and appreciate) one feels a bit more relaxed.I don't think I do not mean to divulge too much on relationship beyond this, on relationship it is something one wishes to guard zealously. It is a weird thing to realize and harder to explain it to people around. I think my folks have had a hang of it. But there are a few things which are on priority right now so a few things have to wait.

My father has been transferred back to Mumbai. It has been three years here in Surat. I think it has been a great stay in Surat he has seen it all and perhaps did more then he ever did anywhere in his long career. I happen to meet one of my cousin who I did not knew lived here. Then there are lots more people. Surat has had happy memories. The life in Surat was nothing short of happening, gala social functions, celebrations, ceremonies, floods and all that chaos that happened in last monsoons. This had been more than eventful phase in my parents life.My parents are more than happy to move back to Mumbai. A city where I have spent all my growing years. Surat has to be left when I believe we were almost settling in. Mumbai awaits them among all chaos and madness. The city has different zing no doubt that. I know it as good as anyone. But thats how life is, one has to give their best. I will not be moving to Mumbai. I have a job here in Surat and as my parents shift places things will fast forward career-wise for me. I have a tough training coming up. I last crack at CAT and lots more thing happening. It will be a weird. I will leave my parents after joining them after engineering. I was with them for couple of years and now I will be packing my bags soon. The blogging scene is what I am worried of as my net access in the office has been limited. It is that way all over.Anyways not that I have been blogging a great deal but then it is fun to say the least. I miss blog at times but at times I have justed deleted post half way coz I did not wanted to blog. I simply did not care where my posts were going. A change of template would have been a welcome change for "readers".

It was moer to do with the summers then something else. I wish I knew more graphics and add some special touches but then too much of gloss is something I dont like. I prefer simplicity. I had torrid time fixing colours. Thanks to Z000nie and Sakshi who helped fix a few colours. My hats of to people ho design and keep up web pages great work guys. :) The whole philosophy was to make one's own template. I thought of adding a template from Bloggers and then from other site but settled to being Psycho! I love what I did a few more changes may be done suggestions are welcome.
But don't imagine it to be put up too soon.

The life continues to be at crossroads of dilemma as traffic and weeks go on.
