About: Film Review, Omkara

The cast and mould of the film.
The ensemble of cast is very dynamic, starring Ajay Devgan, Kareena Kapoor, Saif Ali Khan leading the way along with the support cast of Vivek Oberoi , Konkona Sen, Bipasha Basu and Naseeruddin Shah. The "mould" or the setting of the plot is rustic and may happen in any part of rural North India namely, Eastern UP or Bihar. It is about guns some more guns, lots of voilence along with lots of expletives which would have been necessary inorder to portray of charachters. There are also some tongue-in-cheek dialogues which I would have heasty laugh but fortunately I could not as I knew my parents sit besides me.

The story is about.
It is about power grabbing. Ajay Devgan is Omkara who leads goons under him. He is follower of a local criminal's character played by Naseeruddin Shah. The local don Omkara is promoted and his shoes needs to be filled. He chooses Vivek's character and Saif has to be the loser. The story slowly gravitates towards grab what Saif that was his. Kareena's character is used to continuously guide the plot towards it's end. Vivek's character screw up a few times which obviously did not amuse Omkara.

The role of the background setters.
It is needless to say he has done his part of the job well. Bipasha was roped in for the part she does best carrying off the oomph factor meanwhile Konkona Sen often reminds of now legendary (the erst while Dukhyaari) Smita Patil. There is a still on way to reach where Smita Patil left for heavenly abode but she is defenitley that material and has the pedigree too. Vivek's character is as it was in "Yuva" he is always there to take the blame.

A scene which is reminescent of "Deewar".
I hopemost of the poeple have sen Deewar, the (old) one starring Amitabh, Shashi Kapoor and mother of all screen mothers Nirupama Roy. If one remembers the godown scene in which Amtiabh beat the winds out of local gang and then comes out to wash his face and drink water from the nearby tap. Ajay Devgan too does it here only after killing the rival gang. He comes in and drinks water and washes his face I smiled as it was truly "inspired" from Deewar.

The plot turmoils.
As there is turmoil in the story and the plot thickens towards the climax it begins to get hostile and bloody. I not wanting to divulge much will take liberties to just say it is a bloody end to a movie which is about guns, terror, expletives and sex. If u are wishing to see it try not to watch it with your children.

What I liked.
I have not read "Othello" but I love movies based on novels as they come out better and some what more sensible but then it is just a perception though. I think with a success of Parineeta and great reviews for Omkara the filmi people should look into making more movies not only out of Indian literature along with western literature instead of blindly aping English movies.

Cricket: Test Matches & Centuries

I really don't remember my last blog on cricket. I imagine it too be long long ago. A lot has happened between two blogs of cricket. But brooding over incessant rains in my part of world for the last 36 hours the best thing I could do was to blog. The beter thing was too blog on cricket. I must confess, newspaper and cricket websites (Yahoo! Cricket and Cricinfo) have given me enough info to blog about the test matches which are under way.

Test Matches and visiting teams flayed by injury.

I have been following cricket for some time of my life now but rarely have I seen two good teams competing with best of 11 memeber. There seems to be injury to some of the key player. Sachin Tendulkar was on recuparating list when India was touring West Indies. There are test matches under way, England host Pakistanis and Sri Lankans play host to South Africa. Both the visiting teams namely Pakistan and Sri Lanka have there fare share of good players being injures. Paksitan has Shoaib Akhtar on the injury list. He is the main stay of Pakistani bowling, there is Razzaq but he hasn't has that much pace. Shoaib has blown away best of the batting line ups with shear pace and sometimes change of it.
England will remember him for his scything role he played when England was touring Pakistan in winter. Pakistan came back from behind to win the test series. Inzamam and Shoaib carried Pakistan thorugh to what was a very intruiging series. Shoaib has few chances to come back, as his injury is taking way to long. Pakistan will press him into action as soon as he is deemed fit.
South Africa has two former captains injured/unavailable for selection, Shaun Pollock and Greame Smith. Jacques Kallis is also abstaining for the reason which I have got no clue about. It is a sorry state for South Africans who are looking to build up a new team.

Cook cooks a tonne.

Alistair Cook has a centruy on debut, that makes him a select band of players who have managed to do so. The English selection commitee have done well to throw in a 21 year old. The English policy of selection is odd coz they dont intorduce players onto international arena before they touch 25. Alistair Cook has very well defined limitations. He is not a stroke player so doesn't goes about flirting like a playboy in around bombshells. He is rock solid in defense and can also handle spin well. His maiden century against India is a testimony to that fact. He missed out against Sri Lanka but cmae back well against Pakistan to notch up a hundred.

Bell rings a century too.

Ian Bell use to be number three against the Aussies during the Ashes. The poor chapo use to come up when McGrath and Warne would be teasing the English with some old tricks. He had a torrid time but the bowlers are not to be blamed. He sometime walked into the trap not realizing that batting wasn't exactly running around the park. He was also the undoing on English in India. I have not seen the play enough but English batting has not blasted the Pakistani attack. The just scored at 3.5 an over, which by the way is now thw average run rate acroess the board. It was good to see Bell extending his ticket in the English playing 11.

Pietersen suffering from Laxman syndrome.

Pietersen has his sublime and powerful packed stroke play to Laxman smooth drive and wrist flicks. The analogy is still there though. They both have been guilty of having starts and not converting. Laxman careers meanwhile suffered due to his wavering starts and rare conversion. Pietersen may suffer the same fate. I think he has to be serious when he gets to forties and thinking of rotating the strike often.

Sangakkara excudes a smashing double.

Sangakarra who seems to be end of any misery of Sri Lanks is perhaps the most complete player in absence of Attapattu. he and Jaywardene (Sri Lankan captain) came together when the score board read 14/2 and they went on to shatter all batting record of patnership. Sri Lanka in Sri Lanka are a different propositions. South Africa meanwhile are perhaps caring snow sledges in tropical forests. I dont thing they have the right type of bowlers or bowlers who are good enough. Nicky Boje should be a pleasure for anyone who knows how to hold the cricket bat. If South Africa's best spinners is Nicky Boje then they really don't have any spin bowling talent. This is not taking anything away from Sangakarra though. He is really good and perhaps second best to Gilchrist. It is not time to take out the daggers yet as Dhoni has still to play as many Tests as Sangakarra. He unfourtunately missed out on a triple century by unlucky 13 runs. May be some other time who knows.

Jaywardene standing really tall.

There was often case in Jayawarden's career that his reputation has preceeded him. There was often a comment saying he does score big enough. There are some players who just enjoy scoring runs as captains. There are presently Ponting, Inzamam, Dravid, Lara, Greame Smith (currently injured) and may I add Jayawardene. This list includes perhaps the best among the currently playing. These playes score and the scoring big runs. Jayawardene has scored his highest 374 runs, highest by any Sri Lankan captain. I am not sure if there is any other Sri Lankan captain who has scored a triple. I remeber Ranatunga to be the captain when Jayasruiya scorea a triple. Jayawardene missed his quadrpule century by 26 runs which is 13 x 2 = 26.
Wow aquadruple would have been a great feat.

Pakistan and South Africa are way behind the host as they are marred by injuries and poor first innigs score. Jacques Rudolph and Kevin Pitersen are clear disappoint for their respective teams. A review of the two test as soon as the Tests are over.

Blog: Rain and Songs

I had to blog today I did not guess I would have time to do so but some how with three quarters of an hour to go after some phone calls and some odd running around, I have managed to take time off and sit out to Blog.

Murphy's Law/Murphies Laws, or call it what you want.

Someone I don't remember said that life is nothing but witnessing bizzare events. I managed to get up early today, thats not a coincidence though, the cell phone memory seem to running brim, I thought why not ease it off some numbers which I don't use "regularly" I though why not delte them. I did de;ete them and then out of the one and a half dozen numbers that i deleted, three people called me. I was dumb founded. I think next time I delete someone's number I will call him fist and declare to him that You are erased.

The weather here.

The weather seems to be on a roller coaster a loud gurgling and downpour woke me up at around 4 in the morning. I soon realized I had couple of more hours to do what I do loving most, sleep. I manged to sleep till 7:30 and then it was all the way to getting ready and being just on time. The day was awesome here bright sunshine for couple of days during the day. This bright sunshine cast dark clouds of doubt in my mind about what will about to unfold. I had a heafty lunch and then resume some documentation which was pending. I dragged myself to the site. I have a "site" job. I for some reason am very proud not to be in IT field, no offence to the techies though I think they are doing a great job in everything they are doing.
I felt thje wind picking up and it was becoming very breezy. One could see clear blue skies but withing 15 minutes there was darkness all round. The absence of camera in my hand made me curse myself again. I for one did not have much choice though. The cloud looked really good, shiny dark grey-black back ground. The wind meanwhile started to howl, me and my friend picked up the sigh and headed to canteen enroute to office had some biscuits as dinner is still far far away. I entered office and I hard the clatter of rain. i had a smile on my face as I was not wet in the cold AC.
The reason of smile was actually finding time to blog.

The list of Songs now.

I never had the snese of music. I adore people who play an sort of instrument, paint, sing, dance or whatever. I have a strong belief that one has it in you and these things cannot be learnt. I wish I could play the song by Jagjit Singh which goes as "तेरे होटो को सालाम, जीन को छु जाने को तरसे कई सागर कई जाम..." then a few more sungs were being played in my mind some of Pankaj Udhas song "चान्धी जैसा रान्ग है तेरा ..."
As the rain started I wanted to sing the Bryan Adams of a song "Lets make a night to remember from January to December"

Last but not the least.

This one is for people who don't have Blog Alias. What would your Alias be for the Blog-O- Sphere, a name by which you wish to be know?
I think I would like to rename "myself" as The Light-House .You meanwhile give it a wild thought and write in the name which you would be known as in the Blog-O- Sphere.

About: A moral victory

The bloggers have a relief and victory insight as the Department of Telecom manged to make amends by pulling up ISPs for blocking up blogs.

Earlier I hooked on to Rediff.com again to find this article. The article briefly said that the "normal" blogging services will resume in 48 hours. That is Sunday morning I hope.
It is a moral victory of sort for people who worked hard and kept on relenting pressure by blogging continuously that blogging is alive and kicking. There are hundreds of blogger entering everyday. There are many people who hope to make there livelihood on the net. Then there are some who are now habitual to it and want to share their part of the world with someone in regions of far and beyond.

The aftermath of bomb blast should be a message to our fraternity as well as to "Flag" anything that is suspicious or bring it to notice of fellow blogger and people who manage Bloggers. There is a little responsibility on our (Blogging Fraternity's) shoulders as well to keep last bastion of freedom of speech to spread peace, hope and smiles across the cyberspace and across the world as well.

About: Blocking Blogs.

"They can take away our lives but they will never take away our freedom."
Mel Gibson gave voice to those words which fetched him an Oscar. I was a bit frustu (short for frustrated) after reading an article on Rediff claiming that DoT (Department of Telecom) may be intentional forcing ISP's to black out various blog sites.

My site on Blogspot Blog has been facing a similar fate.I also believe they can block away my site but they wont be able to block me from blogging.I will continue to blog be it on Yahoo! 360 or be it on Blogspot.I am not see my blogs but I can definetly see the response to my blogs courtesy Google Analytics.

This even has gvien me more reasons to blog more and more may be a blog a day till I see the page on my nearest computer's screen.

Just incase u know someone also suffering from blogs try to visit Pkbolgs .If some of you (Arz000n, Kathy, Sakshi,) who have access to Orkut just past the Pkblog link on Blogger's Communities.

P.S. :If I am unable to reply to your comments(or visit your page), then don't think that I dont want to, it is because it am forced not to reply on comments.

About: Mumbai blast.

Present:
I went to work yesterday so took an off today and sat around wonder if life is as complex as we think it is? Should we really think as to what life will unfold rather than wait for things to happen? Should we respond instinctively when things happen or should we also think when we have to act instinctively?
I prefer keeping thoughs and my life simple.I think thats one of the reason keeping this blog free of colours and keeping it simple in black and white. It is around 11 I start o rewrite this blog as the attempt before faced an unforced error which saw a blog being closed down as I was just done with the start to the blog. The office hours rightfully spare me enough time and space required to blog so I thought before I find to sit and grid my thoughts again let me post this one. The post on the vacillating Share Bazaar or the Sensex is still in the deep freeze of thoughts.
It will be a week of the unfortunate event and we still haven't seen anything which seems claming.
येह बम्बई शैहेर हादसो का शैहेर है |

Believe it or not there is a song from one of the Hindi movies.I don't know who wrote this sog or when was it written and educate guess seems to hint an era of mid/late eighties when gangs were really gangs and not corporates and political parties, murders were result of gang wars and public turned a blind eye.So much so for the above track.

To the point.
There are innumerous points that can be the possible reason for the attacks which took place.I have been the part of great city while growing up so this isn't coming from anyone who hasn't seen the face of the city "long enough". There are some which crossed my mind these are some of the things which anyone get if answers the questions like why? when? whom? where? what? and how?

Mumbai is a deprived, ignored city from the "Centre's" of politics.

The city is unfourtunate rater than resilient.

Those who say city's infrastructure is crumbling seem to living in an Utopia.

The city's infrastrucute namely roads and railways have crumbled.

The people of the city some how manage to keep it running.

The politicians i.e MLA's of the state and MP's in the center have not done enough to win the trust of it's citizen.

It is a personal opnion but the city of Mumbai is the only cosmopolitan city in the country, other cities are regional centers and feel threatened to shove off the regional tag.

There is no regional bias among the citizens of Mumbai.

The other cities are coming up fast but still to catch up the "cosmopolitan" nature of the city.

The public have to come out and lend voices to thoughts.

Did the citizens of Mumbai have any other option other then picking up the pieces and getting on with life?

All the Neta's at large is promoting seggregation.

The city has been sold for the sake of greed of power and money.

The people who executed the plan might be nabbed but the one's responsible might not be even frammed.

The case of 93 bomb blast goes on , I don't think anyone is even convicted.

India's political impotency in the region is also a major cause of concern.

What would the Government do if the people of Mumbai were to call of a city wide strike for a week, where everything grinds to halt?

Name a kilometer span of "roads free potholes" (due pun intended)

The radio service in the city is brilliant.

Mumbai city should be a Special Economic zone.

The city is so vast and so dense that even a minute incident is likely to affects thousands.

The "public" machinery has answers to all their faults but no solutions to redeem them.

The power brokers are busy in broking shares.

It is a commercial capital, money flows along with sweat, tears and blood.

The media claims of resilience of the city is nothing but trying to create harmony from broken drums.

It is time to get into action and strike the hell out of those blood sucking ticks.

The Center and the State leaderships are too weak.

The state of Maharashtra is in shambles.

The city is likely to face an exodus sooner rather then later. I think the trend is already under-way.

Bottom line.
There have been many songs about the city, which one of those can you think of at this moment?

Blog: So Sweet.

Last night I caught up with Sakshi on Google Talk, while the conversation went on mainly revoloving about Erich Segal and Mumbai blast, she inquired as to why IU have not update my blog page (blog kyon nahi likha?) . It was a scenario similar to a batsman getting bowled on a no-ball for an instant the batsman curses himself and the bowler rejoices and after the umpire declares bravely a call of no-ball the batsman rejoices and the bowler curses himself. I don't know whether I was the batsmen or the bowler. I was a touch busy and putting thoughts to words needed a "time" factor which was sparse for this week.
There will be more about what happened on 11/7 but for now while having lunch paved a way for a Blog update. I had a "Kala Jamun" as a sweet while lunch. This gave me the list of my favourite sweet meat. These are independent of ranks and could be eaten early morning even if I am half awake.

1. Gajar ka Halwa.
2. Sonn Papdi.
3. Kalakandh. (Milk Cake)
4. Simmayian.
5. Mung-ki-Dal ka Halwa.
6. Chawal ki Kheer.
7. Laadu.

There are many more and I will edit this page as soon as I come out of drooling over these sweets.

Cricket: It is a series win.

India played well to win an illusive “away” series win. West Indies also played their part and made sure that a series win in West Indies was no formality which other teams sought after and managed to do. The score-line would have been much better barring weather and some ordinary team selection. Sehwag silenced his critics again by scoring a meaty hundred. Jaffer came into the reckoning. Laxman made a hundred in conditions, which suggested India to be on the mat but Lara pulled of the hook and things eased out. Rahul Dravid was as consistent as divinity. He scored 496 runs at an average of 82.66. He can put no foot wrong. It was good to see “The Telegraph” (published in Kolkatta) hailing Rahul Dravid.

Indian Batsmen.
They should look up the captain and emulate what he has done over the years. I would like to see some more grit. I think Indian batsmen should bring forth the flamboyance that they show in One Day matches. I think they consider it too dull. Kaif needs to tighten his game while Yuvraj needs to rethink his batting for Test arena.
The openers came in and went out without anyone noticing. Rahul Dravid who would have not been surprised played all day and was lucky to miss out on a century in the first innings. He could have well got one in the second. The West Indies pitches are weird as they deteriorate they start to spin and jump for the batsmen and indifferent bounce attracts the seamers as well. I think they would really be tested in South Africa I am looking forward to that whenever India goes in their next. Indian batting just undermined itself in the one days. Dhoni was for some reason looked out of sorts. Kumble meanwhile made sure that he contributed not only with the bat but also spend time in between and score some runs. The bowlers should all look to do the same.

West Indian batsmen.
They need to just hang in their and fight it out. Lara wont play forever and Viv Richards left test arena ages ago. There are people like Gayle, Sarwan and Bravo who should come fore and guide people in even if it means that they have to curb their strokeplay. Sarwan has to start better. He is a very good touch player. Samuels should also be their in the list. Morton another batsmen who should be regularly featured in playing eleven. Bravo gives them the extra option.

Indian Bolwers.
They impressed for starters but would be looking towards the selectors to give them a snior pro to work with in Test matches. Kumble is a snior pro but not a fast bowler. I think Harbhajan two fivers gave me lot of hope. If Sehwag can claim West Indies then Harbhajan being a specialist should have better chances of doing so. Kumble mean-while has done well to control the herd. Sehwag also made a useful contribution. Munaf looks good. Sreesanth was surprise package in the last test. I think I kept him of the list coz Gayle just knocked him out of wind in the earlier matches. Irfan was unlucky. I for once feel that in away matches India should play five bowlers.
My point of view is if Pathan played in all the matches instead of Yuvraj, could we had a chance of a better score-line without taking anything away from this one?

West Indian bowlers.
They look good but may do well once they are in full strength. Collymore looks sharp and bowls a mean line. A spinner could do wonders. Collins took wickets while Bradshaw always looks to contain. The West Indian fielding was good all through the series. I think West Indies should look to come up provided they get some good bowlers going and nurture them well.

Besides Cricket.
I have not watched all the games of the World Cup even though I wanted to do so. I guess u don’t get every thing in life. I believe Portugal will lift the trophy if they slay France in the semis but it is a long way to go. I think every one is betting on France to win the semis. I don’t know the name of a single striker’s of Portugal but they did well to compete with top teams and get better of them. If one looks at France there is a willy fox called Zidane. He is such a master. He has to do it for France. He has done it before. He and Henry are tuning well. One thing if for sure, favourites not always win the World Cup.

About: A trip to Pune.

Take off.
Everyone seemed to take time off for a holiday. Ishita and Neha happened to be off to hills to get off from simmering heat.I think they went for the same hill station. I headed to Pune to catch up with friends, who did everything possible (Saam Daam dand bhed) to call me over so that we can unwind like we did in the times not so long ago. It used to be fun. 13-15 guys singing, joking, laughing enjoying life as it should be done. Tears and roars of laughter all rolled into one.

The journey.
After missing out a bus (got late) and shelling out extra Rs 100 (only) for a sleeper I started my journey. The upper berth in those sleeper bus reminds me of upper birth in trains. I have an eerie feeling for those. As I headed into my journey I realised my cell-phone had no balance and the battery was in its last strand. I prayed; by God’s grace I messaged a friend who replied back questioning me whether I have really hit the road of not. I realised I have hit the road as soon as the bus hit the pothole on the road. It rained all the way to Pune. I managed to get before dawn and was miffed to say the least when I read a sign post claiming “Dombilivi, MIDC Phase-1 ”. A was struck in a traffic jam and I thought it would take some hours before wheels would roll again. I went to sleep. I got up when the bus shrieked to a stop before the start of the famous “Mumbai-Pune” express highway.

The scenery and the delight.
It was raining continuously. Then the climb of ghats Lonavala-Khandala. It is really very scenic. I managed to take a few snaps but could not get a proper “shot” at the scenery. As the bus ascended on the Ghats a biting cold hit me and knocked me out of wits. I managed to find some solace by closing the windows and enjoying the shear delight of clouds beneath and the roads ahead.
The bus kept ,moving ahead as I keenly looked on each passing milestone claiming that the destination was getting nearer by each passing second. I was now nearly 12 hours in the bus. I think I did a smart move by opting for a sleeper. The bus meanwhile entered the city of Pune. The potholes seemed to be disguised by pools of water due to incessant rains that splashed over the city.

Confusion and PCO calls.
I got down somewhere (don’t know where I did) and called up my friend who asked me to reach FC road. I managed to be there in 20 minutes time. I called him up again but the rained had picked up a gear. He after couple of calls asked me to reach another place which was close to his place. I reached there, then I called my friend again. He then came to pick me up and I went to his house and rested and freshen up for day of long catching up with old pals.

Superman, the movie.
I managed to go to “City Pride”. The movie “Superman” was the obvious choice. The tickets were taken and two friends more joined in. In the mean time I found a net connection. I checked my mails and scrapped as many friends as I could announcing my arrivial in their city. I also scrapped Sudeep, who gladly called me up and we decided to meet at some place after I was done with the movie. Before the movie started as usual some snaps were taken, one of them was the following one.

The movie was ok, I mean good for one time sake.

Blogger’s meet.
Then me moved to JM road where couple of friends joined in and meeting point with Sudeep was settled at the nearest McDonald’s (MacD’s for us). After a few missed calls SMS’s and calling I managed to meet Sudeep at MacD’s.

It was a happy feeling to the whole point of meeting someone whom u now but have never met. The Mac D was choco block full. We had a cold drink and talked for around half and hour. Sudeep had to watch the football match and I was looking for to meeting some more friends.

The unwind.
Then there was again a series of SMS’s missed calls, calls and then I managed to recognize a childhood friend of mine who had grown a touch stout. I was so glad to meet him after almost 5 years. We played when we were toddlers. He still remains a good friend. He insisted that I come with him, as much as I wanted to and I could not coz I had fixed up plans with batch-mates of mine. It was around 9:30 in the night when someone suggest a place where we could sit and talk about the year that went by over a round of beer. We chatted about almost everything. There were jokes and arguments over the “usual” topics of “if’s” and “not’s” something made me happy that I am not into I.T. I am afraid of sitting in one place. These discussions often throw up a few moments somber moments which bring everything in place. I seem to enjoy these moments always.
There was some confusion over the bill which was quickly settled. Then the friends parted and I along with two others went “tripling” to my friends. The downpour which followed us all the way reminded me of a similar night almost two years ago.

Flashback: Two years ago.
It was a monsoon Saturday night and “we” were having a “Buckar Session” which ended around quarter to midnight where I miffed if we could go to “Aamri-faatah” a.k.a “Aamri ” of simply “Fatah”. “Fatah” was the place where we used to regularly go to have food. I was dismissed. Then a another friend came in after the session was over wanting to have Parathas. I asked my friend again. The money was an issue. After dusting a few clothes we managed enough money so that we could go comeback and have the Parthas we wanted to have. Armed with cash and wind-chittters we set out to “Fatah” as soon as we came on main road, I realized all heavy vehicles were going on strike at the stroke of midnight. We waited for next one and half hours and walked couple of kilometres before a brick carrying tempo halted and we hitch hiked for Rs 5 per head.
We got down at the first dhaba which was visited when we wanted to have “Aaloo Paratha”. The rain dampened our spirits but the the aroma of friend papad, a lip smacking chutney, masoor dal, parathas and butter changed the somber mood as I watched the clock on one of the walls which told me it was 2:15 in the night before me could break the first morsel. I think it was one of the most “delicious” meal I have ever headed. We walked couple of kilometre again and waited patiently before a milk van offered us to leave us the desired destination.
The rain started as soon as we started to take the approach road back to college. The rain was slow and easy and fell down in a spray. I wished I had a camera then. I still remember the yellow light of the street light and mist which formed the halo of the bulb. Amazing sight. We managed to slip into the campus without much fuss.
We were welcome by a cheer by our friends who were still awake at 4 in the morning. I slept dreaming of parathas. I got up on a Sunday when mess offered aaloo “flavoured” parathas for breakfast.

Back to the present.
I wanted to have a meetha paan so we found one and three of us had a meetha paan and one paan was packed for the friend waiting at home. The towel was the first thing I caught hold off. I drend and chaged to have a few round of snaps and X-Men 3 was showing now. I was tired and slept soon.

Day Two.
I got up early and switched on the computer monitor cum TV set and saw India had taked a lead of 97 runs. Sreesanth rocked Gayle and Lara. Harbhajan then steam rolled West Indies all out claiming 5 for 13. I said wow, match is on. Then following the Sunday morning news I also came to know that Brazil was knocked out along with England. I never though England would make it. I felt good about Portugal though. Zizou and Henry managed to knock out Brazil.

The second day started lazily with people calling in and then near noon, Me and my friend caught up with another group of friends. Me had a delightful lunch there. It was around 4 when there was another round of SMS, missed calls and calls. Then I came back home where I caught up with two more friends. We chatted for a couple of hours and packed soon as it was time to leave. My friend dropped me at the point at which the bus was supposed to leave. He had a filter coffee me had a cold drink. The bus took around 90 minutes to get out of city and halt at highway where it halted for dinner. I opted for a Pav-Bhaji. It was followed by Diary Milk bar as I sooned passed out waking up occassionly as the potholes hit the bus and I tossed up only to gain control of myself. The bus reached surat at dawn and I have been relaxing ever since. I think the trip was worthile. I think I will go there again.
