Cricket: Boxing Day Test,

Australia hammered South Africa into submission. Matthew Hayden made the plans and Symonds executed them to perfection. I wrote it before while blogging on The Ashes, Aussies are genuine guest they never turn down an invitation. That’s what they did. Hussey thanked Kallis for droping the catch. It may not be the best of an year’s ending seen by South Africa who seem to be in a resurgent mood.
After they dropped Micheal Hussey on the morning of second day, the test has been all Australia. It will a big shock for them.
Aussies play the game that way. In the second innings, the two players returned to the scene with a bang and their critics went under covers. Matthew Hayden with 137 and Andrew Symonds with 72 of 54 balls which included five fours and six sixes. He is an intimidating player a brilliant fielder. He bowls too.
The Aussie batsmen ensured that their bowlers have enough score to defend and enough time to attack the Aussie batsmen. Jacques Kallis coming back from injury could not score much. Steve Waugh who in the end of the career; hit a century whenever he came back from injury.
Warne ensured that there is a mini collapse of batting order. He needed ten more wickets to get hundred wickets in a calendar year. I think he will do so before this match ends. South Africa will do very well to force a draw, which seems as far as Melbourne Cricket Ground from my house.
South Africa are looking down the barrel and what they see seems like a Test defeat.

Cricket: Boxing Day Test, Day One.

Score Card: Stumps Day One
Australia: 239/8
Ponting: 117 Pollock: 3/46
Hayden: 65 Nel: 4/58
A good beginning may not make a good end. That’s the bottom line of whatever happened on the first day at Melbourne Cricket Ground. Australia won the toss and to know ones surprise elected to bat first. The Aussies have two spinners in their side Warne and Macgill. The Melbourne pitch will be a spinner friendly, at least the two spinners in Aussie side suggest so. It was a dream start for Proteas snapping the new opener without much hard work. It was hard work for both teams after that. It could have been worst for Aussies if Andre Nel held onto Ponting’s catch. Ricky Ponting and Matthew Hayden took Australia to 154 for 1. This is when The Proteas turned the tables on Kangaroos.
They slipped from their and continue to slip to the days end. Shaun Pollock rocked the top order taking out Hayden and Hodge. Nel then rocked the Aussie middle order with most of their batsmen licking their wounds. Andrew Symonds who is such a destructive One-Day player seems not to get his footing right in the tests. Hussey looked circumspect all the while. Nel ruffled Shane Warne’s feathers. Shane Warne hit him for a four on the first ball on Nel’s over. Nel tickled his wrong side again. Warne holed out to mid off, a good catch. Warne was no his way to pavilion.
The scenarios on a cricket match tend to change pretty soon. It may be so on the next day. The onus is on South Africa to polish the Aussie tail and then bat at least for two days. If they do so, with a run-rate of 3 an over that should see them with a lead of well in excess of 250 runs. This is easier said then done. Warne and Macgill will leave no stone unturned. McGrath will always take wickets. Bret Lee is always threatening with quick pace. South Africa should say to themselves, if we screw up this innings we screw up the series.
If they don’t bat Aussies out of the game then you can very well predict whats going to happen. The Aussies always manage to come back if given a chance to do so. I think Gilchrist poor form is a cause of concern. I hope he returns to form sooner rather than later.
The ball is in South Africa court, they are in a driver seat. Do they have enough to take a big lead over Aussie? The fat remains to be seen

Cricket: Australia vs South Africa Boxing Day

It is a boxing day cricket match. If you are curious to know whats Boxing Day,it is the day after Christmas when the boxes of gifts are open just to check out whats instore. There have been some great test matches which have started on th Boxing Day.I think this one will a great treat to watch as well.Steve Waugh has accussed Sourav Ganguly of tailoring the pitches, but who doesn't? Of all the traditional Test playing teams it is only England who struggle the most on their pitches. This is mainly due to their traditonal tendency of batting collapse.Melbourne pitch will be spinners domain.Warne and Macgill will be licking their lips to bowl on this one.The onus is between South African top order and Australian spinners.I think South Africa did well do draw the test match. If the pitch in perth had been a perth flier who know Australia could have been on back foot straight away.

Merry Christmas

Wishing all a Merry Christmas.

Blog: The Year 2005: Part-2: Personal Aspect.

This year, I at last saw completion of my graduation. I still have to see my final mark sheet, which certifies that I have been successful in my endeavour as an under-graduate engineer from Nagpur University. I am still struggling to find a job. I hope I do so in this year.
To be frank for some reason, unknown to me I am not attracted to Software Industry. My graduating background is one of a Mechanical Engineer is not the reason. My room partners and other friends have joined a software company and don’t have “apparent” qualification of a software/computer/I.T. engineer. But I have reasons to believe they are doing pretty well and I hope they continue to do it forever in their careers. Then some other (Abhijith, Harish, Vaibhav, Swapnaj) joined post graduation courses. They are being grilled at the moment. But that’s college life. You always enjoy it in retrospect.
I also hope the Indian software industry as well as the BPO industry does well too. The reason is simple we (Indian Software Company) are just satisfying an iota of demand. The demand is dozens of much more.
Now, coming back to year of 2005 (A.D.) The year has been a turn around year for host of reasons. All worth like falling in love all over again and perhaps again. The hostel life came to an end in first week June, with a tacit promise all of us to be in touch with each other whenever possible. I think we have done so at least for six months courtesy the internet and cellular technology.
The end of hostel life saw a huge hysteria over an inter-branch competition and people were blood hungry over couple of unexpected result. The thing is those miscreants were my own classmates. I thought pretty well winning the “dumb charade” competition. It was David beating Goliath. My teammates, Kunal and Abhijith who still are good friends were brilliant that night. I remember cracking one in seven seconds. I realised that day that impossible is always spelt as i-m-possible. I tried my hand at quizzing and stood a creditable second with my other room partner, Anirban’s team who by the way a very good quizzer is stood first.
Then there were days most of which were spent in siestas while bunking lectures. Then there were afternoon spent in college canteen fagging away stories or pulling someone legs or just following “someone” from the campus back to the canteen and then back to “campus”.
The evening that is after the college was over were mostly spent in canteen having huge roar of laughter. Then there was continuously flowing tea, coffee, “sutta” and cold drink with the buyer often managing a little of what he bought. The weekends were spent in hostel watching movies like, Top Gun, Gone in Sixty Seconds, Troy, Gladiator, D.D.L.J. Munnabhai M.B.B.S. Hum Tum and host of other movies off course the CD’s were pirated from a local “C.D.” shop.
Then there were “days” like formal day, black day, most of which went unnoticed because of lack of participation/coordination. A farewell is what we remember the most.
Our juniors threw us a very good treat with some great song and dance items. We enjoyed that very much.
Then there was a project report and project seminar. My group partners and me only know how hard we worked at it. We managed to compile the report. The report was given to printer and then was bought back, then all the necessary parties signed it and some minor correction suggested.
The summer that was omnipresent by now was getting hotter and hotter by the day. It is hard to believe that the average day time temperature between April and mid June was 43°C and night time was 42.9°C.
Then there were some preparatory leave followed by viva exams. Then contrary to what happened, marks suggest we did well. Then there were five papers in 8th semester. A paper called Computer Aided Design, which till date I find haunting. The paper was a stumper, the one that most people thought would bring upon the downfall, but Nagpur University took care of us all.
It was for the first time that we saw result away from hostel. The Nagpur University results always came in local daily newspaper. There was always a big build up to result.
The results were out and I cleared. I “cleared” the final result with a first class.
The life has been a little more organized after end of exams. It was June 15 the day my last exam that happened to be a back log of 7 semester paper called Refrigeration and Air Cooling or Conditioning I still cannot fathom. I managed to clear it and was able to stick my neck out of water and secure a first class.
Then there was a marriage that was attended. Indian marriages are always fun to attend. But I still want to see the movie “My Big Fat Greek Wedding”. Then there were classes for entrance exam for aspiring managers or future workaholics. There I met some people who still amaze me. They are truly brilliant and making this city Surat, a vibrant place to be. Surat by the way has a huge textile manufacturing industry. The roads here are amazing same cannot be said about the way people drive.
My parents gifted me a Cannon Powershot A-510 for my birthday. It is fun most of snaps on this blog are credited to this camera. There have been many social gatherings and many more phone calls that I have attend in last six months then are last four years of hostel life.
Merry Christmas to all those read this blog along with my close friends and each and everyone I ever met in my hostel life.
I think life is at cross roads and about to take a turn. Is it right or will it be left?

Blog: The Year 2005: Part – 1: Tale of Sorrows.

The Year is nearly to the end. The new one being eagerly anticipated. It is as staying awake all night and waiting to see the sunrise and bring in a new herald. I thank Almighty for the year that jogged by and pray for the coming year. I was pretty much in the same position almost a year ago. The date was 26 December 2004. My seventh semester exams had ended. and I was in here at my home in Surat with my parents. The sleep played hide and seek with me. I was restless so with not much to do I decided to switch on the T.V. set on a news channel I saw breaking news flashing. I thought it would be some sort of accident happen in some part of the world.
I was wrong. The worst disaster had struck. Death was playing hide and seek with millions who were to go sleepless for many a nights in the days and nights that followed the aftermath which had struck in the Indian Ocean. There was a huge wave of disaster. It struck South East India, Sri Lanka and many others around the Strait of Malacca. The Tsunami had struck.
This one for etymologist; disaster is derived from dis + aster. Aster = Star dis = uneasy/bad. It is a common belief that disaster happen when constellation of stars hint so.
There is something common between earthquakes and wee hours of the mornings. I heard of so many earthquakes that happen around the early mornings and late nights when most mortals are in sleep perhaps dreaming of better life. There is little that one knows what is going to unfold. This year the earthquake in Northern Kashmir experienced an earthquake in wee hours of the day. Many lives were lost to this and many more due to lack of help and biting winter which sein on the region like an uninvited guest in a Christmas Party. The nature’s cruel joke.
Other disaster struck. The hurricanes in America are one of the examples. Katrina. Many other hurricanes then came and went but none left such a large trail of loss to human life and property. The blogger community helped people all over the world to be aware of what happened in Louisiana.
I think as an active blogger, I am proud to be a part of this community.
Then there was monsoon. It rained and rained like never before. Wherever the rain cloud went, they poured down floods. I was coming back after attending the marriage standing on the door of the train’s coach I saw nothing but water for miles on an end.
Then Mumbai standing still while it rain and rail and road network clogged. The island city for once was all at sea. The loss in rural Thane I think when unnoticed and was cleverly swept under the carpet. After the water had receded, even the Government officials began to acknowledge that Mumbai has BAD roads and the city has a destitute framework of infrastructure. I remember having a post on Mumbai then.
Then there floods everywhere and anywhere it rained. The latest in the list was Tamil Nadu. The rains continue there as I write this post.
There were terrorist attacks in London and all other condemnable acts of sinister cowardice. I wonder why everything evil is proclaimed to be in the name of GOD.

Cricket: Intriguing Day

Bravo, Jacques Rudolph well done. The innings he played the type, which typically played to win or save a test, watch. If you can’t win the test, draw it. I think not many are capable to play such a patient knock and see it thorough to the end. It requires a lot of patience and other things that are goes with it. Perseverance is tantamount to determination.
Napoleon once said, “Victory comes to those who persevere the most”
Jacques Rudolph should score many more century and many of those scores would be more than 102 not out. However, the batting display was awesome. It was free from flamboyance of attacking stroke play. It was defence all day. One should keep in mind he faced the most awesome bowling display in the world. The attack consisted of Warne, McGrath and Lee but he patiently build an innings and ensure Australia do not have a chance of winning. He batted entire day and did not play any rash shots. I think he plays well on the off side and his off drives are a delight to watch.
Justin Kemp a batsman in mould of Kevin Petiersen did well to curtail his stroke play and ensure that there is a decent partnership of sorts with Rudolph. He also made a painstaking half century. McGrath and Warne kept bowling all day and Jacques Rudolph held his ground against some vociferous appealing.
Ricky Ponting and Kevin Petiersen at the Oval also played similar knocks in the Ashes Series. The situation was tough. It was the last day. But they stuck onto the wicket and ensured that matches were drawn. The score were similar too both in the range of 150 plus. The one that Petiersen played was edge of the seat thing. He hooked Lee all over the place while Lee was hurling the ball at speed well in excess of 145 kilometres per hour. Ponting meanwhile managed to keep Flintoff, Harmison and company out of the attack.
The question is can the Lankan batsmen do it? Well I don’t think so. They have to battle out for nearly two day until and unless rain plays a spoilsport, which is not on the cards. It is a tough task to bat out Kumble and Harbhajan for two days. I think India cannot lose this test match from here. This match seems to wrapping up in less than four sessions.

Cricket: Visitors Struggle.

I wonder whats with the team touring abroad and key players being facing injury. It has been a bane for all touring team. I do not remember many intriguing cricket tours without a player being a part of injury list. Is there no health check up before the teams are about to leave their shores or is it due to stress and strains of the long demanding tours. This continues to be a mystery to me.
Another mystery is the poor umpiring done in Australia. They have not lost a home series since 1992 it is a long time. However, I think the umpiring is dubious there no matter who is the umpire. I know ICC has placed neutral umpires i.e. the umpires don’t belong to any of the countries who are contesting the test match.
I mean I know what I am writing. I would like to site a few examples as well; remember Sachin Tendulkar being “elbowed before wicket” in a series down under in 1997-98 India’s Australian tour. In the last tour, in last test held at Sydney, Australia managed a draw courtesy umpires who thought there was nothing as LBW as Agarkar continued to beat Langer and wrap him on his pads but nothing happened. Langer hit a century and Australia drew the series.
Billy Doctrove helped Australia by declaring a legitimate delivery good enough to claim Ponting’s wicket declared a no ball. The South Africans are struggling with an uphill task of saving the test match or scoring 500 hundred runs. They will do well to save the test Match. McGrath, Warne and Lee are good enough to ensure a win at the W.A.C.A. Perth. South Africans will do well to ensure a draw. It is highly improbable. It is amazing how the close calls, which might go anywhere often, go through to Aussies when they are playing at home.
Amazing.
But never the less Aussies are a superlative cricket team and worthy of their success.
The Sri Lankan’s to have their fair share of injuries. Chaminda Vaas being compelled to sit out due to injury so also Fenando. Murali is also struggling due to some sort on injury in his thigh. There is little Attapattu can do as a captain. The two Lankan players, which I noticed in this test match, are Jehan Mubark and Parvez Mahroof. I think they are very talented. Mubark is a very good fielder and Mahroof is a very miser bowler with a decent pace and a very good control over his bowling. They are good prospect for Lanka. I wasn’t impressed with Sangakara being promoted in the batting order.
I think Jaywardene has a penchant for Indian bowling and plays spin and pace well. I think he should have bought up the order and Sangakara being a good batsman with an appreciable record could provide a much-required rigidity to the middle order. I don’t like Indiatimes much because it shows up most bizarre cricket news, which any one is likely to hear. I remember couple of fortnight ago was reading an article about how Laxman and Harbhajan are likely to face an axe. Today it posted an article that they have slapped critics on their face. I agree that they have slapped the critics on their face but I am curious to know if the face belongs to Indiatimes. I am beginning to wary of experimentation going on in Indian cricket. I hope it is not making cricketers being insecure of their places in the team. I hope all is well ends well.
In the end, it is about England. They are struggling both due poor form and marred by injury worries. I hope to see a better-prepared team before they come to India in February.

Blog Update

It feels like Home Alone 2 lost in new york.I am home alone but not in New York. But not to thinbk about much except wtch of old movies wtch some breath taking cricket and think what will I do next.I got an exam coming up in couple of days.It is called SNAP.It is an entrnce exam for Symbiosis, a B-School.My college days are over and I am preparing to go to back school.I have chalked out some plans o go out to see Bluff Master.I think Abhishekh Bachchan is way to cool.I wonder though that is a full beard a lucky charm for him.I thinbk Amitabh Bachchan is supersitious about his French beard.I could not get first day first how because the theatre I am going to has first show of Bluff Master at quater to eight.I hope i get the tickets though.Cricket story..... Well done Pakistan. They managed to staem roll England.I hope English team realize that the game o cricket is a grat leveller.thats what makes the next Ashes very interesting.India did well to take a one of lea the ball is in Lamka's court now.Ganguly's fate some how is down in the dumps.Ganguly's exclusion was suprisse to one and all, but the "tamasha" people are doing in Kolkatta is uncalled for.I have already written that this exclusion should spur him to perform well in the next chance he gets. His performance sho00uld be such that he becomes an automatic selction.the South Africans meanwhile are resticting the Aussies to a not o good score. But i hope they don't let the Aussie bounce back. It's is a long tour for South Africans I hope they do well.

Cricket: Second test India vs SriLanka

Well it was a taste of sour grapes if one would have imagine an equal tussle between Lanka and India in the second test.India is well on the way to steam roll Lanka.A draw will be an interesting prospect. But I dont think so.Jayasuriya is the key because he doesn't make runs he plunders. He has a very good record against India. When he scores Indian bowlers try find a place in the ground to hide themselves.Dravid has been a key to India's success in the recent past.He is now the fastest Indian to make 8,000 runs.Well done. His big runs ensures that strokemakers can score runs.he provides very rigidity to the Indian batting.More on him in couple of days time.

Cricket: Ganguly a fallen hero?

What is the fuss about Ganguly?
Are we debating that the tiger’s skin should is not to be sold? Or are we bargaining for the price of the tiger skin?
Will Ganguly lead his coming days as a pride of Bengal only? I hope not. There has been a lot that has been said, wrote, posted, commented, flogged, degraded, justified. These are some facts that, better be accepted in the light as bright as seen in sunny summer afternoons.
Truth alone is majority.
He has been India’s most successful captain. India has won many matches and series overseas regularly in exchange lost a few at home. The term overseas not only includes places in the Indian sub-continent but also overseas as in places like England, Australia, West Indies and Zimbabwe. I am confused over Zimbabwe because playing them is not the tough task for most Test playing teams.
The present team has been Ganguly’s brainchild no doubt in this fact. He has given chances to people like Sehwag, Yuvraj, Kaif, Zaheer, Harbhajan and others to prove their worth. They are slowly maturing into fighting cricketers. Ganguly has been a terrific one-day player and plundered runs home and away against all kind of opposition. His numbers in one days command respect with awe.
That is his “record”. But has Ganguly been a performing asset of the team over the last two years?
Well check out Wisden and the numbers in the last two year in test and one-day forms of the game fail to impress. Let alone people like us who are number freaks. I agree that scoring runs is not easy, but hey, that is what he is being paid for.
Let me compare him to Rahul Dravid in the capacity of a player alone. I want to compare Dravid and Ganguly because both started their Test career together on the same fateful day. Ganguly went on to write history with a century on debut at the home of cricket Lords and Dravid a not so memorable 95. There one day careers also took off at the same period. They both have the same age and have been playing together since their junior cricketing days. David’s one-day record is decent and everyone is ga-ga over his test record. While Ganguly’s one day career skyrocketed and Test average took to blacksmiths hammer and for two years has been awry to say the least.
Dravid on the other hand tagged himself to be a Test technician took time to come to terms with the one-day format of the game. The last two years for Dravid have been to a contrast to that of Ganguly. David’s performances have been commendable. His has scored runs home and away and scored big. He is one cricketer in modern era to score hundreds against all oppositions away from home.
If you compare international careers of both, the total number runs would be nearly same and number of centuries would be same. David’s has played a vital role via his performances overseas to ensure that Ganguly be the most successful Indian captain in the history of the game until date.
Ganguly on the other hand has not troubled the scorers much. His last century came against Zimbabwe and one before that was in last tour of India to Australia. There is another thing to compare, match fitness. Does Ganguly physically as fit as Dravid? I do not think so. At least he does not show that. Ganguly in Test matches assures the opposition that India plays with at most nine batsmen only. No team will mind Ganguly wicket in exchange of couple of scintillating boundaries. He has his problems with shot pitch stuff but so did Steve Waugh, but Steve Waugh use to fight it out. Ganguly surrenders.
I don’t think he has been a performing asset of the India cricket team at least not to the level of expectation especially in last two years.
People may say it may be due to captaincy. If it so he should have given up captaincy right then. Is the captaincy more important than scoring runs? A non-playing captain has little value to the team. Was he there in the team to-just lead the team?
To be fare to Ganguly he wasn’t given the best of treatment. But he himself did not offer much. There is no doubt that he was well supported by B.C.C.I. ex chief Jagmohan Dalmiya who came to open support of Ganguly through mean times.
When Dravid was made the captain of the national side Ganguly resigned from the captaincy of the Bengal Ranji team and said “I am ready to play under anybody.” Shouldn’t he came out and said that “I am stepping down as captain of the national Indian cricket team and would fully support Dravid in all his endeavours as a future captain? I think it would have done India a world of good. The time for Ganguly to resign was ripe before the Sri Lanka series at the start of the season (before the Zimbabwe) it would have saved the teams of many shameful blues. He held the captaincy too tight for too long for his own discomfort. At some point of time everybody has to let go off things.
The whole fiasco has been a case of trying to make two wrongs a right.
My point of view is Ganguly should let go of thoughts of captaincy. He should resurrect his Test record pile up huge scores and entertain the crowds in one day format with thrilling display of attacking and run making batsmanship or else bow down the spot light and leave the stage.
The ball is in Ganguly’s court.
I happen to come across this article on Indiatimes about Ganguly. Are my words about him too different?

About: Dan Brown Novels

Dan Brown hailed and condemned equally all round the world. There was a press release from the Vatican, which did not exactly praise Dan Brown. He has been known for being as a fiction writer who many have termed as a sensationalist. There is a lot common between fiction and friction. It is easy to mistake one for another. His writing though purely a fiction has been a cause of lot of friction among the followers of Christianity. He has been drawing a lot of dissension for being a sensationalist. The people related to media say, “No publicity is bad publicity”. There are examples of it all round the world.
One might say this as Dan Brown decoded. What is on your mindwhen you pick up a Dan Brown? The gist will be very captivating and will demand the attention of your eyes at once. The plot is very mysterious and very nebulous in the sense there is more than one twist of the tale. It is kind of roller coaster ride which might make you to read a few pages again to make sure you read it well. I am listing down few of the points that I have noted while reading
The Da’Vinci Code, The Deception Point, Angels and Demons and The Angels of Fire.

Page One: A murder being committed at a peaceful, undoubted location. The victim leaves some sign for the eyewitness.

Page Two: A phone rings or a fax buzzes for a college professor (Robert Langdon) who just had just been out of sleep after a not such good night. The professor it seems has no connection with the murder or the clue that the victim left. A mysterious person contacts Mr Langdon.

In first one third of the novel, the professor meets the person who had contacted him. The plot thickens and there are lot of addition of characters ranging for soon to be distressed damsel, a real smart woman who any man would love to woo some weird geek scientist, lot of fundoo techno stuff, super computers, state of the art weapons, all those things that everyone might have seen it once on Beyond 2000 television show.

This section also introduces a secret organization of some kind, a brotherhood, a state of the art lab. A brief description of the killer may also noted here. There would be some sign pointing to masons and secret sects and society. There would be a detail description of a romantic city like Rome, Paris, London, etc.

The second one third of the novel there will be a lot of adventure glaciers, high mountains, wild forests, and rough seas. Speed boats, private planes, and fast cars. A lot of chaos and the characters beating around the bush stuff. It is sometimes too loud, and too long, you might for once feel like “Gosh what have I landed into?” It becomes bizarre when lot of people are going places chasing any one the character might have met in the novel. The lead characters then will enter some building hunting for clues, which they will get at climax only. Meanwhile there is a lot of introspection, nostalgia and flash back on which the male protagonist is fed. This includes some startling claims made by the protagonists. The bizarre murders continue to take place locations where the male and female lead are present, after some murders there is more description of a sociopath.

By now, the reader is fully gripped into reading the novel and may get some hint as to what the mystery might unfold to be. You would continue to read the novel in the endeavour to finish it. Then you realize that the person who has been the mastermind of whole plot suddenly comes out of shadows of the backdrop. Now the protagonist lead run helter-skelter in order to save their lives and now the damsel in distressed is saved by the knight in shining armour in trying circumstances. They manage to escape to see another sunrise. Lot of clues gather and the mastermind forced to reveal the plot so that the motives are understood. The whole adventure does not take more than twenty-four hours. The clues to whole mystery are solved by the male lead with help of some sort or memorabilia or anything of academic interest to an archaeologist.
Then the climax which my have fight sequence which sees the evil slain. A beautiful sunrise that follows an awful night of tough of ordeal.

To end it all, the damsel in distress is now in love with the knight in shining armour.

Blog Hopping.

Last night with not much to do, I did what many bloggers do.I went blog surfing a.k.a. blog hopping.I found some interesting things which one may want to add or for that matter just check it out. While skimming through Blog Fresh I found a way to add Categories to blogs.
I think I followed seven out of ten instructions but I could not add Categories. I read through to comments and I got a link to
Robert's blog one may also see this so that you too can add some Categories to your blogs..Knock Knock any one listen, I hope they come up with some thing which makes it easier to categorize our blogs. I wonder what blogger is doing about it. Blogger Guys please…come up with something. I don't know everytime I blog surf there is atleast one of the blogs dedicated to photography. I too love clicking snaps. I have got some snaps posted on this blogs and I have uploaded some snaps at Flickr.I for some reason believe Flickr is better than Picassa.
If you are one blogger who really wants to reinventing the looks of the blog page and experiments a lot his/hers blog template and u think it’s time to change your template one can look for help or you can go template surfing. I suggest you check out the link given blogger-templates. I believe if u check out all the link there you will find the template of your choice. If I may I would like to recommend blogger-templates. I believe if you check out all the link there you will find the template of your choice. If I may I would like to recommend -thisif you would like something “different”.

Thought of the day.

I dare say that cricket is a great leveller, for that matter any sport. The favourites never win. It is like in life nobody knows what is going to happen next.
Then there are exceptions, I believe end or a downslide of persons, peoples, races, and organization begin when they realize they are indispensable. Success is not a state or a destination it is the journey, a process. When civilization, kingdoms, hierarchies and armies or for that matter big corporation have collapsed when they have reached their pinnacle.
The process is natural. A decline has to follow maturity. That is why people keep on reinventing, repacking, revaluing products. They advertise the product as new even if it meant change in price by a fraction of a rupee. I am not against advertising. I think it is a great science, a brilliant art form, great attraction. The ads these days are so touching. I think there are some serials you sit and watch for commercials only. The only reason being there are lots of commercials in them. If one talks of “family shows” produced by Ekkta Kkapporr (a.k.a. Ms. Ekta Kapoor) I off late realized why these are family shows. I had a little laugh on my naivety and realized the folly. These “family shows” are so called not because they are seen by family, it is a story of group of people who came together. The important features which they had in common where
They all are somewhere linked by “extra” marital affairs, who knows what?
They all head makeovers/image changeover at some point in time.
No one knows whose kid his whose daughter etc etc.
Only the kids grow older and after a point of time the age gap between grandmother, mother and daughter is just couple of Olympics either way.
They all run on shock value. I hope you remember when character “Mihir Virani” died some people wanted National flag on the half-mast.
The spelling of the serials should be either spelt in Hindi only.
What happens when people start to turn their backs on these kinds of serials? They never ever want to see that type of serial again. At some point Ms.Ekta Kapoor will need to break the mould herself. I think she started to so that with Hum Paanch on Zee T.V. but how long will it last? I am not too optimistic. Madame’ (Ekta Kapoor) the world is going flatter before you realize. Why should I watch something, which makes me cry? Is it not happiness that we seek this I think defines success of Kaun Banega Crorepati, Nach Baliye, Jassi, etc. I know crorepati has more than one reason to be successful. I pray for Amitabh Bachchan's speedy recovery. He is for me an icon of perseverance more than any thing else.
How the world is getting flatter? If you wish to seek, the answer read, “The World is flat” by Thomas L Friedman. I have read it. It is a great book. It is a very contemporary book talk about Globalization. I hope “Globalization” is not a turn off word for you. It will provide you deep insights and may be suggest some new ways of working out your options and start believing into the fact that resources are always mean and not the opportunity. It is one book, which is well crafted and helps in understanding “Internet” better.
The day started with wishing something that was not to be. The second day also washed out. I do not know what Sourav Ganguly’s star suggest but I believe he is ready to hit some BIG scores. I think he will first person who would be cursing the rain Gods. The crowd behaviour was uncalled for in a match against South Africa. Ganguly has been an awesome One-day player without doubt but I think it would have been wise in hindsight if he could have let go of captaincy six months back. I agree with people who say time is right for a change. Then there were some people hell bent on reclaiming the throne for Sourav Ganguly. His run getting statistics fail do deceive. He is a better player than that.
English media beaten by an Englishman? The English media raised the cricket team to high pedestal after they thought they had done the unthinkable. I think the Australian team was never their. The pace bowlers were out of form, the openers came just to register them selves on the batting card. Shan Warne took wickets though. The Law of averages caught up with Australia and then lost the Ashes first time in nearly two decades. The Pakistani team waited for England. The English team was caught napping and were defeated two to nil in a three match series.
I think this will help English team to realize that road to the top is tough and winding and the English media should stop beating hollow drums.

About: Déjà vu’: Coincidence or a Sign?

I wonder why is it that sometimes senses take a back seat and pretext take over and we some how know what is about to happen. It is always said, heared, experienced but remains explained. We have seen it in movies e.g. Matrix. It has been part of myth, folklore, books and novels. I am sure that everyone has this type of feeling at some point of time and will continue to experience it. I too had similar experiencs of this off late.
I think you arrive at an unknown situation and you just know what is going to click. It is some times I just now what song will play next on my Winamp or Jet Audio play list even if I put the play list on a random order. It happened when I wanted to watch Notting Hill. I sat in front of the TV and cable operator just out of nowhere turned onto Notting Hill. It again happened one day while I was away surfing to local cybercafé. It might not making sense but it did make me feel weird. I felt stumped. I cannot explain. There is no pattern to this but the point is it happens too many times and leaves me flabbergasted.
Is this a sign? On the other hand, is it just manifestation of the unexplained?
I know I cannot do much for now. Everybody wants to know the future. “Be sure what you want ‘coz you might just get it” this I believe has more than a positive connotation. Mind over matter I believe. However, I also believe “If you think you can; you must” I say so because the journey is also more beautiful then the destination itself. Cricket buffs (including me) always say it is never until it is all over. I know things happen when least expected. The darkest hour is one before the sunrise. Nevertheless, a déjà vu is a surprise, whether it is a pleasant one remains a big ?
The future will not be as much fun if we already know it. I think the movie “Paycheck” starring Ben Stiller and Uma Thurman provides a look on the same topic. Uma Thurman looked ravishing in the whole movie. The movie does keep you on the edge until the end. You may want to check it out. However, I always felt that somewhere we have it in ourselves to steer our destiny, fate future if me manage to give it everything we got. The world is for the people who are determined to change it.
“Things always happen the way you want to make them happen.”
Faith moves mountains they say. That is the whole point.

Cricket: India vs Sri Lanka

Cricket is up and so are my blogs. For some odd reason when cricket is my inspiration for posts. This one is no different. Well, England pride is under a big dark cloud with Pakistan playing some gruel some cricket. Well the throne of numero uno of test cricket remains distant as ever. There bowlers were grinded toothless. Inzi and company quite admirably tamed Flintoff and party. The critics say that Inzi’s performance over seas flatter to deceive. However, when it comes at playing at home Inzi draws a lot of command and can send any attacking packing. This is what Inzi and company did. It was supreme batting performances, which help England realize that they were far from even posing a threat to Aussies.
If one talks of predictability in cricket, we should sight example of West Indies. Their performances fail to attract anyone. Sad. Brian Lara tries so much by making thousands of runs but no one even manages to stick around him. It is surely not a talent thing.
Let me come back home. Well there are dark clouds lurching over the Test match starting tomorrow literarily. The cyclone may hit the cricket and be a spoilsport. It is for not the first time. I hope someone has also made a following observation; India and Sri-Lanka whenever they play rains assume an invitation and spoil the party. I can enlist three such instants when India and Sri-Lanka played and rain marred some excitement. I remember the series when rains came down in every test match on the last day. A test in Mumbai rained off with India firmly in control. Last time when India played a test in Sri Lanka, it was Ganguly’s first series at the helm of office. What should we be saying for now? I think it is too early to say. Ganguly has been a premier one-day batsman. He scored runs in one days with more panache than any one else. If I am not wrong he has scored ten thousands runs earlier than any other batsmen. I think Ganguly would be gearing to get into scoring mode soon.
Ganguly to Tendulkar, I read on http://www.indiatimes.com that Tendulkar should focus more on Test. Rubbish I believe. My advice to the person who wrote the article would be “Leave Tendulkar alone”. I think whenever he comes to the crease; we may what type of mood he is in within twenty minutes of his batting. If there is decisiveness in footwork, he will make it count. He has a good record of accomplishment against Lanka. I saw on some “news” channels India should be fielding in three spinners. No use. I think we should do well with two. Tendulkar and Sehwag pose a few problems with some good spin. I must admit I am a big fan of Tendulkar’s leg spin bowling. Anyone reading, remembers Moin Khan's dismissal in second test in Pakistan? I hope Dravid just maintains his consistency for if he is consistent he will make runs. I purposely put David’s and Tendulkar name in one bracket because they are two players who have been very consistent home and away.
Every one would have heard of One Man Army. However, I felt Sri Lank as two men army. Jayasuriya would score and Murali would take wickets. No offence to Vaas, he is an underrated bowler but that is how the game of cricket is played. Both by the way are quality players. Let us see how players like Sangakkara and Jayawardene stand up to threats posed by Kumble and Harbhajan.
I hope we have a full fifteen session of test cricket.
